A group of 4 of us are going to the MGM in August. What would it take to get MGM to comp us an upgraded room?MGM Grand-Las Vegas Comp Room Upgrades, will they do this?
With no past history of play, your best shot at a "complimentary" upgrade is the $20 trick.
http://www.frontdesktip.com/index.php
The only thing they tell you that is incorrect is. You DO NOT put the $20 between your CC %26amp; ID when you hand them to the desk clerk. The $20 stays in your other hand, but visible as you ask if there are any complimentary upgrades available.
They only get the $20 handshake and a thank you when you get the keys to your upgrade. It's a really good idea when you ask to be familiar enough with the hotel to know what you want %26amp; to ask for.
If you play the slots/video poker - only sign up for one "Players Club" account and have all four of you play on that one account(the name on the room!) They will give you as many cards as you like. Four accounts with 2,500 points per day will not get you anything, one with a 10K+ per day average probably will. %26gt;At least with that kind of average you can expect future offers of discount or free rooms.
Don't panic - 10K is about 10 hours of quarter video poker, spread among the 4 of you, that's not much play at all.
800 hands per hour is average x $1.25=$1,000 play
The MGM does have 8/5BP which is a pretty easy VP game to learn and pays 99.2% with optimum play. Add their .33% cash back and .33% earned comps to than and you have a pretty good game. Add "discretionary" comps on top and unless you have a bad run of luck you should come out okay.

Comps are based on the total play by the person, not in advance unless you are a returning guest. You would have to play at least $15 per hand or more each hand, ask the pit boss before you start for a rating, and win/loss a serious amount of money.
But charge everything you spend to the room (except tips) and when you check out you will be told to discuss the "comp" with the pit boss son duty.MGM Grand-Las Vegas Comp Room Upgrades, will they do this?
gamble lots of $$ and spend. They like that you know.
so you need to drop $200-$400 a day to get that upgrade.
The first thing you want to do before you travel is call MGM Grand and ask for the casino host. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/mgm.html Tell him or her that you are planning a trip to Vegas and will want to stay and gamble at MGM Grand. Do not ask to be comp-ed unless you have the MGM Mirage card with lots of points on it. Instead ask if you can get a casino rate if you book the rooms right now. Also be willing to book right away if he says yes, because he might want to book the rooms for you.
