MGM Grand has nicer rooms and better service. PH attracts more of a younger crowd. Both are fun places to stay. Go with the one that gives you better rates.

Neither one...in MY opinion...but between the two...MGM WINS hands down!!!
I "DO" really, really, really like MGM...am 'incredibly' familiar with the property...every inch of it, inside and out...including place that most employees aren't even allowed to see. SO, very close to The Best...and in some cases/comparison...the best.
I rate MGM much higher because their pools (plural!!!) are huge, lazy river etc...their shows are much better...they have many more restaurants in all price points, they have so many other things immediately outside their door that are GOOD spots to visit (M%26amp;M World, Coca-Cola Bottle, Hard Rock Cafe and much more!)...their shows are TOP Class (if you know where/how/who to book through you can get good deals too!)...they regularly update their rooms, have good nightspots (studio 54, etc)
Planet Hollywood...is "okay" on a budget...but their nightclubs have been shut down for allowing sexual activity INSIDE the club (multiple violations, the CITY shut them down...not the hotel!)....their restaurants are "okay" at best (experience)...perhaps the best for value of the dollar was the Hawaiian Tropics restaurant, but it's 'nitespot' allure is so weak they require their waitresses to be 'contestants' in a hotbody or bikini contests...and they are the only contestants 99% of the time...The brazilian steakhouse style restaurant has poor customer service, mediocre food quality/presentation and many bad reviews from me, my friends and industry professionals who have actually gone there....other than the 'rooms are cheap' and they are 'well located'....the property doesn't rate well with me, my friends, local professionals, etc in the other categories....including a mediocre at best pool (in comparison to Vegas standards).
Sorry for the poor opinion of Planet Hollywood...I was even part of the pre-opening team...before it became Planet Hollywood...so I really had high hopes for it...but operationally it has not done well.
Planet Hollywood is smaller. But they have a killer sushi place called Todai. And the MGM is bigger and has alot more stuff in it. Either one is nice I suppose.Which is the best hotel in Vegas: Planet Hollywood or MGM Grand?
I like MGM both in size and across the street from Tropicana, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY and Monte Carlo where you can catch a free tram to Aria and then onto Bellagio
They are both great places to stay. Which one would be better probably depends what you are looking for.
Planet Hollywood has a bit of a younger, hipper vibe and is slightly better located.
MGM Grand has a better pool area and a larger selection of restaurants.
There are good deals for both going on, check out these pages:

MGM Grand: http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.p鈥?/a>
PALAZZO BABY... IT is up north of the strip but there are so many ways to get to the main part of the strip, LEGGS (HE HE) BUs on the strip with all day pass for $7.00 and the Mono Rail for all day Pass $7.00. I LOVED THE PALAZZO it was beautiful clean live I mean I did not come across one wrong thing and my ROOM the Furtuna was AMAZING.. GO FOR IT GIRL
It depends: If you want to hang out with a younger crowd and party, then Planet Hollywood is the way to go. But if you just want a great hotel with great amenities and quality rooms, then MGM Grand is the way to go. Check out the links on both of them below to see if the information helps your decision.
Both hotels are fine. Planet Hollywood has a great location but personally I would choose MGM Grand because of the great pool area. Anyway you cannot go wrong with any of these hotels just make sure to keep an eye on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for the latest promo codes and offers for these and other Las Vegas hotels as well.
