What is the best hotel in Vegas for first timers either MGM Grand or MGM Signature.?

staying 3 nights as a surprise which is more romanticWhat is the best hotel in Vegas for first timers either MGM Grand or MGM Signature.?
The Signature might be more romantic but it is not very Vegas like. To get to the casino you have to walk to the MGM itself since there is no casino at the Signature. Also be aware that the Signature is non-smoking.

Being your first time you might want to read the tips sheet on this site. Full of great info for first timers.
Boy, if you stay at either you had better like walking or have a car. The MGM is so big, just the walk from your room to the Strip could take 10 to 15 minutes. I am not exaggerating. I do not recommend this hotel for people who do not know the ropes. You would be far better off staying at a hotel near the middle of the Strip.

But if you do wish to stay at MGM stay at the MGM Grand itself not the Signature. The Signature is not "Vegas like". The Signature is for people who are intent on staying in their room (or in the Signature a suite). This place is plenty plush and has jacuzzi tubs etc. but it is too much removed.

I do not just mean that all that walking is tiring. Even if you are in great shape and can walk for miles without a problem, it takes way too much time. Add up all the time you spend walking from where you are to where you want to be and you can waste a full day's valuable vacation time.

So, I can only recommend the MGM or Signature if you have a car or want to take the monorail which is also a hassle because it runs behind the hotels on the East side of the Strip and does not stop at all of them. There is still a lot of walking from the monorail stations to the hotels.

I had my first time in Vegas Jan of this year and we stayed the the MGM Grand. I wouldn't have had it any other way. The Signature is supposed to be more luxury but the rooms in the Grand were huge and very nice and there is a club inside and you can see a show right there if you want to. There is the mono rail attached to it so you can get out and explore other areas of the strip without having to fight the crowds on the street and there are cheap places to eat inside too.

I think it was a perfect pick for our first time there and would be for yours as well.
Signature is newer, if I recall correctly, but quite honestly, you won't spend much time in your room. You could probably get a cheaper hotel elsewhere with a room upgrade for the same price of a standard room there. Though Imperial Palace isn't the high end hotel, it is in the middle of the strip, and you can get a 'luv tub' right in your room. I think some even overlook the strip.
You will like either. If you need less noise then choose the Signature since it's a non-gaming property. Mandalay Bay is also nice. Book online and save.

Both are good. Signature is time share and not attache ddirectly to the casino.
