MGM grand or the Mirage hotel in Vegas for our 10 day stay?

From England, getting married in Vegas. We're looking for a nice mix of gambling, shopping, gambling, eating, gambling. What are the pros/cons of each, they cost about the same by the looks of it.

Thanks for the helpMGM grand or the Mirage hotel in Vegas for our 10 day stay?
They both have great locations on the strip however the MGM is right at one end. What we plan to do next time we go is to stay at the MGM for a few days and circulate the hotels there (Excallibur, New York New York, Monte Carlo, Luxor, Mandalay Bay etc then move further down the strip around the Mirage, Venetian, Cesears Palace, Treasure Island etc. If you've not been before you won't appreciate how long the strip is. It took us nearly 20 mins just to walk through the front of Cesears Palace including 3 stops for photos! A trip (taxi ride from MGM) to the Stratesphere at the far end of the strip is worth it, the view from the top is superb! Also, eat in a different hotel every day theres so much to choose from!
They are both on the main Las Vegas 'strip', so it does not make a lot of difference.

You should explore the whole strip, plus Fremont Street (the 'Old Vegas' area as seen in 60s movies).

When I go, I usually have each meal in a different hotel or restaurant for the whole visit.

It's also an incredibly good place if you are in to roller coasters, rides and amusements etc.

- Plus, many hotels / casinos have their own shopping centres, in addition to some actual shopping centres!MGM grand or the Mirage hotel in Vegas for our 10 day stay?
I prefer Mirage, mostly for location. You would be closer to great shopping and several other big resorts, so you'd have lots of options nearby. It's just more central than MGM. But the location of MGM is not bad at all, and it's also a very nice place (huge though - some people find it overwhelming). Both have great pool areas, but I think the MGM has a bit of an edge there.
The MGM grand! They have a lion exibit and the hotel is in a great location. You could also walk around the corner and they have M%26amp;M world, (it gets crowded though)
Mirage is much nicer, more centrally located., MGM has like 8000 rooms. I personally think its much to big to get the type of service you deserve in VEGAS
Mirage, great atmosphere and great location
