Pacquiao pretty much owns the crowd in this previous fights, he has attracted 50,000 fans to watch the Clottey fight, consider this, there's plenty of Filipinos living in Vegas, and LA which which is only a 3 hour drive.
Will a fight with Mayweather be any different?Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, which crowd will fill the MGM Grand Filipinos or African Americans?
HUMAN BEINGS WILL FILL THE ARENA. No need to get racial on this one, since all ethnicities want to see Manny rip Floyd a new one!
Possibly, but most fans of mayweather know that pacqiuao will win. Most of em ive seen on yahoo, worrying whether ortiz will beat him. That isnt a true fan of a boxer and that fight against mosley just showed it, people just go to watch him lose as when he got shook, the whole crowd exploded.
But mayweather wont fight pacqiuao, why? Well, not is it highly unlikely, but despite the crticism, i expect ortiz to put up a fight. The guy is so undrepictable and its the toughest fight mayweather will have i reckon in the next year
But to answer your question, no, it wont be different, pacqiuao will draw in his eager fans, mayweather will mainly draw in people who want to see him lose rather then his true fans. By being undefeated hes made it seem that his legacy is that hes untouchable which a boxers legacy shouldnt be, it should purely be about his style and his success.
Pacqioauo would hog the stands, mayweather will mianly draw in people eager to see if he'll losePacquiao vs. Mayweather, which crowd will fill the MGM Grand Filipinos or African Americans?
With major fights like that the promoter usually buys most of the tickets and gives them away to celebrities. Its very rare to see the everyday Boxing fan with tickets to a major event like that.
Second, you can't automatically assume the fight will divide races, its not 1930 where blacks only root for blacks and whites for whites. Both fighters have fans from all types of creeds and colors.
With all that being said your intentions are so obvious that you might have been better off naming the question " Filipinos are going to show up but Blacks won't". Although, I don't necessarily believe that considering Floyd consistently sells plenty of tickets and PPV Views. Your just trying to strike a cord and ravel some feathers.
Filipinos, Blacks, Puerto Ricans, Panamanians, Whites...All races will want to see the fight. No question that Manny will have his share of supporters there, but it's an "event" as much as a big fight and will attract the casual fan.
the difference is that surely it will break the mayweather and dela hoya record of PPV. But don't put race when it comes to sports for we all know we cannot underestimate other races.
You can't tell who roots for whom just by looking at their skin color. Teodor will root for Mayweather (I think) and Galactus would be rooting for Pacquiao.
there is no need to bring race or ethnicity into it there a pacquiao fans who arent filipinos and mayweather fans who arent african american
fans of all ethnic groups will be looking for tickets all over the world so it really boils down to who buys since that match would sell out in hours
Filipinos, even rebels and terrorists will watch..
Earthlings will watch
I dont know. but one thing is for sure, all are boxing fans.
