it has to be close to the mgm because i don't have a car and i'm afraid to venture off the strip. Thanks for any advice.Staying at the mgm grand in las vegas need to know where i can buy cheap bottled water, milk and juice?
We just stayed at the Monte Carlo, which is across the street from the MGM Grand. Right next door, to the north of the Monte Carlo, was CVS Pharmacy. This is still on the strip. From the front door of the MGM, this would be a 5 or 10 minute walk. It will take you that long to get from your room to the front door.
We picked up a case of bottled water and many other necessities for a reasonable price. A bit higher than grocery store prices, but less than convenience store prices.
BTW - You are smart to not venture off of the strip, unless you know the area. Especially at night.
There is a Walgreen's pharmacy on the strip further north. Since you are staying at the MGM and have no car, you will need to spend $24 for a 3 day unlimited pass to the monorail system. As I remember, cokes and water out of the vending machine are about $3 each at MGM, so you can save a lot by getting a six pack of coke or Aquafina at the pharmacy.
The best option is the pharmacy near Venetian where you can buy pretty much any toiletry items you need, as well as snacks and beverages.Staying at the mgm grand in las vegas need to know where i can buy cheap bottled water, milk and juice?
If you want to comparison shop, take the bus west on Tropicana, which is the same street the MGM Grand is on, to Jones. There is an Albertson's, a Smith's and a Fresh N' Easy all on the same intersection. You'll get locals prices, avoid the strip taxes, and it's no more than a 10 minute bus ride each way.
there's an AM/PM market and a 7-11 on the strip, just NORTH of the MGM ... also, I think over on Koval (back side of the MGM, paralleling the Strip) is a Terrible Herbst's Rebel (a 7-11/gas station chain in Vegas ... owned by Jerry Herbst, a local). Typical convenience store pricing. To get to the nearest real grocery store, the closest is a Vons on Tropicana ... but you'll need the bus ... just the other side of the aiport.
ya just ask the locals (the people that works at the hotels how to get to walmart via the vegas city bus and most locals will help u out with what bus to take). i went to vegas for a week on spring brake i asked the workers how to get to walmart via the bus and they told me how to get there. i must have spent about 20 bucks at walmart for drinks and munchies for the week including a can of coffee for i would not have to pay 4 bucks a day for the hotel coffee
You will have to ride the bus. There is a food 4 less at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Windmill. You need to cross the street from MGM and travel south. It is like 6 miles. The food 4 less is on the oppostie side of the street from the direction the bus will drive you.
Then when you are don
Just stayed there in May - right out the West Wing exit - the side with the west wing lounge - go out the automatic doors to the Grand Canyon Experience - it is in front of you - we bought all our water, etc there and it was cheaper than the hotel by far.
Just go out onto the strip and walk towards the main part of the strip. Not far up is Walgreens. Not a far walk, only about five minutes. They sell everything there a lot cheaper than at the hotel.
Walgreens in the area! Drugstore Delight! Mini Food items, juice, water, milk available.
Look up Walgreens for Las Vegas, NV and look for ones with the Las Vegas Blvd strip address.
There is a flashy Vegas-style Walgreen's and CVS, just a short walk down the strip - cant miss them. Also the hotel has small mini-mart on the first floor, close to the main entrance., but prices will be higher.
There is a Walgreens and a CVS on the strip, both pretty close to the MGM. You can find all of what you need at either of those places.
Try the large pharmacy on the corner next to the Monte Carlo just across the Strip from the MGM. I think it is either CVS or Walgreens. They have what you need much ceaper than the hotel.

Here are the location of the CVS and Walgreens along the Vegas strip.

Don't be afraid.Just take the local bus on Tropicana about 3 miles east to the Walmart that's located at 3075 East Tropicana
On the way from the airport ask the cabbie to stop at 7-11 or CVS or Walgreens, but the closest
There should be gas stations and CVS's or Walgreens nearby. I see them all over the strip.
Why dont you just swing by a gas station or grocery/convienece store on your way to the hotel?
wal-mart
