Taxi costs from MGM Grand to Stratosphere hotel and back?

The price is the price regardless of time. $3.50 drop and $1.20 per mile. The Strip is 4.3 miles long one way from MGM to Sahara so add another 60cents to that total
You already got some answers on taxi cost....but you might want to consider the Las Vegas Monorail, with a station at the MGM, and at various places along the strip all the way to Sahara which is across from the Stratosphere. It's cheaper, at $5 per ride, or you can buy day passes.
