Ok this is an extension to my question:Should they just set up a temporary tent in Vegas that could fit up to 50,000 seats instead of hosting it in the tiny MGM grand. And yes I said tent like in the circus, incase of Rain.Why does Pacquiao vs. Mayweather have to be in the MGM Grand?
They were considering Thomas and Mack too. They need something that will hold more than 100,000 spectators. It would be nice if it is held at the Dallas Cowboy dome. That place was really huge with retractable roof. Its overwhelming . There is a lot of Latinos who are boxing enthusiast too.
MGM Grand wants Asia's high rollers who make bets of $100,000 to $250,000 on Bacarrat tables. Only Tyson and now Pacquiao have been able to lure these high rollers to Vegas.
“They all are licking their chops for Manny Pacquiao, especially against Floyd Mayweather, because nobody else can bring in the highest of the high-rollers,” Arum added. “The MGM or Steve Wynn will put up a number over or above the best gate.”Why does Pacquiao vs. Mayweather have to be in the MGM Grand?
Why do you think? Paquiao's fight at the Dallas stadium had over 20,000 more spectators than Floyd's fight at the MGM Grand. Yet Floyd's fight had brought in way more money at the gate. Still wondering why they want it at the MGM. Kinda obvious.
