Staying in deluxe tower basic room, package came with tix to Ka.... Also is it mandatory for them to place a hhold on CC or can I refuse that? ThanksStaying at the mgm grand in Vegas and was wondering what to expect, what to visit, what slots, booze etc?
You will have a great time at MGM Grand. The rooms are very clean and the service is great. Make sure you take your swimming trunks because they have one of the best pools in Vegas with a lazy river.
There is a lot to do in and around the hotel. Here is a list of things to do.

Every hotel in Vegas will put a mandatory hold on your credit card. It's not just an MGM Grand thing. And you cannot refuse it. The hold is held for incidentals and is release within 72 hours at check out.
Also is it mandatory for them to place a hold on CC or can I refuse that? Nope they will or will tell you to visit another casino that doesn't. Its a $100 a day hold on the card so if you were to stay for 3 days then they will hold $300 and when you check out and your rate was lets say $240 bucks for the 3 days, they will take it out of the $300 dollar hold, plus any charges that you made to your room phone calls, rooms services, ordering movies on TV, that's why they do this because knuckleheads like to charge and don't pay at the end..Staying at the mgm grand in Vegas and was wondering what to expect, what to visit, what slots, booze etc?
expect it is too big and takes an hour to get anywhere. Venetian is the best: gorgeous casino, a shopping with a canal running down the middle including gondolas that you can ride and a wide range of restaurants that are reasonably priced.
For cheap booze go downstairs to Fat Tuesdays. I have gone there every time I am in Vegas without fail for 10 years. Juice Stop + shots (including Everclear) put into the drinks.
