Staying in the Grand tower in MGM Grand?

Hi ,

my friend and I are so excited. We are going to VEGAS in a 2 weeks and have a room in the Grand tower which I heard are the nicer rooms but we were wondering if we wanted to "upgrade" how do we do that ??!!Staying in the Grand tower in MGM Grand?
best to call or email the hotel as soon as possible. keep in mind over here in the states a lot of people are on vacation right now, so its going to be be fairly crowded, especially on the weekends and around fourth of july. 3 day weekend.

but dont worry crowded isn't always a bad thing in vegas. maybe just when it comes to finding a nice room, but how much time are you really going to spend in your room. right?

have fun!

  • MGM Grand Hotel Rooms?

Which is a better room to stay in at MGM Grand? Our package offers a choice of either a Deluxe Room or a West Wing Room - same price.

    Thanks.MGM Grand Hotel Rooms?
The Delux Room is definitely better. The West Wing rooms are actually incredibly tiny and not soundproof at all. You can hear everythign in the halls and vice versa. You'll be happier at the Deluxe Rooms for sure. As for packages, make sure it's the cheapest way you can go. See how much it would be booking flight + hotel separately using a hotel promo code.

Use http://www.mycheapvegas.com to find the best Las Vegas promo codes and save money.

You can view the rooms at www.mgmgrand.com From what I see delux is two queens and west wing one king

MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question?PLEASE HELP?

Hello, Im looking to go to a concert at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Miley Cyrus will be performing there at September 27. I wanna go so bad but do you have to be 21 to go because im only 13. My mom would take me but would i have to be over 21 just to go?

MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question?PLEASE HELP?
Hello mike i am an MGM at Foxwoods employee and i work at the Box Office, you do not have to be 21 to go. All of our shows are any age permitted unless is says other wise.MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question?PLEASE HELP?
    Hey Mike A,

I see your dilemma! Why would she perform there if you have to be 21 to be admitted, when all of her fans are between ages 4 and 15?! Sorry If I can't help!

    Good Luck!

    Peace, Love, Bubblegum!

Is the mgm grand in las vegas a great hotel for a stag weekend?

Personally I would go to the RIO. MGM is OK but it seems to have a lot more families there. Is the mgm grand in las vegas a great hotel for a stag weekend?
If you are looking to have fun with the ladies stay at Luxor. That new LAX Nightclub keeps the Luxor packed to the tip with females ready to party.
Not if you wish to misbehave. Is the mgm grand in las vegas a great hotel for a stag weekend?
Not the best. I would recommend the Palms which has the Playboy Club and a night club on the very top, or the Luxor which has a brand new night club. MGM is in the middle of the Strip but not known for the night club scene.
Dude, I'm a las vegas bartender and I'll tell you. The best place for a bunch of guys to go is either the Hard Rock Hotel or the palms. TONS of So. Cal hotties go there get drunk and get dumb. Enjoy and thank me later!
yes it is one of the four star hotels out here.

    delig has great sandwiches.
no its not, the luxor is fab and if you can afford it try the Bellagio. You can win a fortune on the slots then buy a ferrari in the showroom underneath. The palms is OK too, I like Excalibur but lots of kids however you can go to the new one which is the Laker hotel (not sure if its open yet) but that is going to be fantastic. I'd defo do Bellagio
mgm is "great" hotel im going there in two weeks time , not for a stag weekend but for a s**g weekend .Im 61 so make of it as you wish.[im there for 10 days so i might not be coming home alive].
it really doesnt matter where you stay as longs as its on the main strip. every hotel has its own nightclubs where a lot of people go. you dont really want to stay in one hotel the whole time anyway. i would stay at ceasers, its a great place and its pretty much in the center of the strip.

    Rooms at the MGM grand?

I'm leaving in 6 days for Vegas. We're staying at the MGM Grand and I need to know if they have all standard hotel amenities. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board, etc. If anyone has stayed there recently and could let me know what I don't need to pack that would be awesome.Rooms at the MGM grand?
MGM Grand standard rooms have have iron, ironing board, hair dryer and suitcase stand. The bathroom also has small toiletries that get restocked everyday with shampoo, body wash and lotion. There are no coffee pots in any of the standard rooms. I too am going back in July. This will be my seventh time staying in this hotel. I love it as it is in the best location on the strip. Have a great time!!
On my recent stay at the Luxor I had what you want but they weren't mentioned in the online room description. The descriptions on the MGM Grand site mention many things except ironing implements nor a hair dryer. My guess is that you will find what you want.

Las Vegas hotels are going out of their way to please their guests. A quick call will deliver your needs.

A better way to find out before you arrive is to call the hotel's concierge before you leave at 877 660-0660 or ask online:

    http://www.mgmgrand.com/amenities/concie鈥?/a>Rooms at the MGM grand?
I did stay there recently and they did have a hair dryer and an iron/ironing board. I believe my room also had a coffee pot with some coffees/teas as well.

    Hope this helps, have fun!

Bellagio vs Caesars Palace vs MGM Grand vs Aria?

25 year old .. First time to Vegas .. Those are my options ..

    Any suggestions?

Leaning towards Caesars but I dunno.. Bellagio seemed more super upscale and more for older people.Bellagio vs Caesars Palace vs MGM Grand vs Aria?
Why are these your only options?

Bellagio is the most upscale of the four properties you listed, but if you visit Bellagio after walking around Wynn/Encore, Bellagio feels like a tired old dump in comparison. I recommend trying Wynn or Encore.

IF you have to pick one of those four, Bellagio is definitely the best choice. Center strip and ultra luxurious. Caesars is also center strip but is much older and unless you specify one of the newer room towers you might get a worn out old room. Caesars would be my second choice.

Aria is brand new and so would be my third choice, although I don't know how good their location is. If it's easy to walk to the strip or not.

MGM Grand is a tourist grind, forget it.
the good thing about caesars palace is the mall. MGM grand is probably the most kid friendly out f the 4. Bellagio is by far the nicest hotel if you have the money to pay for it. basically when you go to vegas you can walk around in all the hotels and experience everything in them, even if you are not staying in the rooms. I did not stay in caesars or bellagio but from being in both of them it seems like the bellagio rooms would be much nicer and you can still visit the caesars palace mall!!!Bellagio vs Caesars Palace vs MGM Grand vs Aria?
of the choices you have... MGM is where it's at. The pool is awesome. There is something for EVERYONE. Bellagio is really out because it's overpriced. Caesars is average but MGM is so much better. Aria... too new to make a suggestion. Although I'd say no.
All great choices...I would recommend you also look at The Venetian and Palazzo as they are all suite rooms and a great location also. But overall, all are top choices. You can get a snapshot of each hotel at www.vegascitypage.com.
Aria is the pick or Cosmopolitan, Luxor, Treasure Island or Planet Hollywood

  • Which is the best hotel in Vegas: Planet Hollywood or MGM Grand?

MGM Grand has nicer rooms and better service. PH attracts more of a younger crowd. Both are fun places to stay. Go with the one that gives you better rates.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>Which is the best hotel in Vegas: Planet Hollywood or MGM Grand?
Neither one...in MY opinion...but between the two...MGM WINS hands down!!!

I "DO" really, really, really like MGM...am 'incredibly' familiar with the property...every inch of it, inside and out...including place that most employees aren't even allowed to see. SO, very close to The Best...and in some cases/comparison...the best.

I rate MGM much higher because their pools (plural!!!) are huge, lazy river etc...their shows are much better...they have many more restaurants in all price points, they have so many other things immediately outside their door that are GOOD spots to visit (M%26amp;M World, Coca-Cola Bottle, Hard Rock Cafe and much more!)...their shows are TOP Class (if you know where/how/who to book through you can get good deals too!)...they regularly update their rooms, have good nightspots (studio 54, etc)

Planet Hollywood...is "okay" on a budget...but their nightclubs have been shut down for allowing sexual activity INSIDE the club (multiple violations, the CITY shut them down...not the hotel!)....their restaurants are "okay" at best (experience)...perhaps the best for value of the dollar was the Hawaiian Tropics restaurant, but it's 'nitespot' allure is so weak they require their waitresses to be 'contestants' in a hotbody or bikini contests...and they are the only contestants 99% of the time...The brazilian steakhouse style restaurant has poor customer service, mediocre food quality/presentation and many bad reviews from me, my friends and industry professionals who have actually gone there....other than the 'rooms are cheap' and they are 'well located'....the property doesn't rate well with me, my friends, local professionals, etc in the other categories....including a mediocre at best pool (in comparison to Vegas standards).

Sorry for the poor opinion of Planet Hollywood...I was even part of the pre-opening team...before it became Planet Hollywood...so I really had high hopes for it...but operationally it has not done well.
Planet Hollywood is smaller. But they have a killer sushi place called Todai. And the MGM is bigger and has alot more stuff in it. Either one is nice I suppose.Which is the best hotel in Vegas: Planet Hollywood or MGM Grand?
I like MGM both in size and across the street from Tropicana, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY and Monte Carlo where you can catch a free tram to Aria and then onto Bellagio
They are both great places to stay. Which one would be better probably depends what you are looking for.

Planet Hollywood has a bit of a younger, hipper vibe and is slightly better located.

MGM Grand has a better pool area and a larger selection of restaurants.

There are good deals for both going on, check out these pages:

    Planet Hollywood: http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.p鈥?/a>

    MGM Grand: http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.p鈥?/a>
PALAZZO BABY... IT is up north of the strip but there are so many ways to get to the main part of the strip, LEGGS (HE HE) BUs on the strip with all day pass for $7.00 and the Mono Rail for all day Pass $7.00. I LOVED THE PALAZZO it was beautiful clean live I mean I did not come across one wrong thing and my ROOM the Furtuna was AMAZING.. GO FOR IT GIRL
It depends: If you want to hang out with a younger crowd and party, then Planet Hollywood is the way to go. But if you just want a great hotel with great amenities and quality rooms, then MGM Grand is the way to go. Check out the links on both of them below to see if the information helps your decision.
Both hotels are fine. Planet Hollywood has a great location but personally I would choose MGM Grand because of the great pool area. Anyway you cannot go wrong with any of these hotels just make sure to keep an eye on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for the latest promo codes and offers for these and other Las Vegas hotels as well.

Any insights on staying at SIGNATURES at mgm grand, lv?

IS THIS A GOOD PLACE TO STAY(MGM GRAND), AY INSIGHTS PLSAny insights on staying at SIGNATURES at mgm grand, lv?
My wife and I stayed there for a week. First the good things we loved about the hotel. NON SMOKING!!! it was a real pleasure that the rooms and the hotel was non smoking. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The beds are super comfortable. If you can get a room with a balcony we would suggest it. Nothing like sitting out on the balcony with a drink watching the night passby. The fitness centre was very nice and wasn't too busy when we used it.

The indoor moving walkways were a welcome sight after a long day on the strip. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful.

Now for the few downfalls as we saw it. One no pop machines on any floor. The little store in the lobby did not keep late hours. It is quite the walk to go through all of MGM but if you don't that it is worth it.

We will stay there again and hopefully the hotel will get the pop machines on the floors LOL

Have a great time there. We did.Any insights on staying at SIGNATURES at mgm grand, lv?
In my opinion no, as when we went in that neighborhood, there were more people soliciting for "other bad stuff". To me, safety was everything.

A thought to consider - if you want points, every casino has the "key card" to get your them. You establish a credit account.

They do a credit check on your, and they have your credit report.

Everyone knows what you owe, and every credit card you have, because when your name pops up for casino ID, they instantly have tons of information about you.

That is their "COMP" PROGRAM, and every casino has one.

If that is what you want, you will get just that.

No thanks, no comp program with my credit report advertised to anyone in any casino for me!

But if you want to have fun: Read on -

There are many deals at expedia.com and travelocity.com

    lasvegas.com

There are casinos everywhere - so don't feel you have to lose all of your money at one location.

There are roller coasters on top of tall buildings.

There are white tigers on the first floor side area of the Mirage.

There are outside shows at Treasure Island.

    Gambling:

There are many where you can lose $50 without even trying, then win $10, then win another $50.

It's easy to lose $100+ a day minimum, so if you're smart

you'll back away if you lose $20 - and try your luck another time, or another day.

Best location, and I stayed there January 2006, was the Mirage and it's next to Treasure Island, across from Venetian Grand canal, and down the street are Bellagio and the Eiffel tower.

You can walk everywhere, or take the bus when your feet get tired (very cheap).

Don't forget to lunch at the Eiffel tower - pricey but great, great food, and across from the fantastic Bellagio fountains that have themes - yes dancing fountains w/music when you're outside to hear.

Lunch also at the revolving restaurant -where you can see all of Vegas during the day - THE STRATOSPHER. The food was magnificent and you can see if you go at lunchtime - where the people of Las Vegas live and the mountains that surround it.

Las Vegas - I saw Jay Leno and he was non-stop for 1 %26amp; 1/2 hours of jokes, and we got the last 2 seats in the far section, and it was still somewhat close because the entertainment area was well done!

We went to see Mystere show - and the best is called "O" which means water in French. The stage actually opens for people to dive into, and then closes for people to walk on it.

    So amazing.

At the end of 7 days, I was ready to come home. It's exciting, but not enough to say, someday I'd ever, ever consider living there. Nah, don't think so.

GOD bless us one and all, always.

Does the mgm grand take AMEX?

I am wondering if when u go place a sports bet if they take amex? or is it cash only for sports bets? any help will be greatly appreciated.Does the mgm grand take AMEX?
you can use your credit card for a wager.
Cash only for ALL gambing including sports betting, it is the lawDoes the mgm grand take AMEX?
Gambling is cash or Casino credit only. Casino credit requires cash deposit.

    *
All gambling in Vegas is CASH ONLY! For EVERYTHING! It is hard to open your eyes in a casino and not see an ATM nearby. The prices to use them are pretty high though. I would suggest visiting the bank before you leave to gamble.
MGM does accept American Express as a major credit card. Nevada law is that all wagers must be in cash. No credit cards are allowed to place a bet. You will have to use cash advance at an ATM and use that to place a bet. It is the law here.
You can't bet with your credit card because the casino would never get paid if you lost. You would just dispute the charge and the bank would side with you and reverse it instead of trying to sue for collection of a gambling debt.

You CAN however, get a cash advance at the casino cashier (which is very difficult to dispute), and then bet with the cash.

Note that AMEX requires a PIN number as well as a signature to process cash advances, call them before you go and get it set up if you want to do this.

When it comes to distance and level, all three are pretty much the same. U8 is probably slightly better than U6, since it's one section closer to the ring. Both U8 and U6 will having you viewing the ring at an angle. U24 viewing is pretty much a straight viewing of the ring sides.

Las Vegas hotel suite to hold a 50-person wedding ceremony and reception? Thinking of Palms and MGM Grand...?

Need help with personal reviews/recommendations of a hotel suite, preferably with a view of the strip, to hold 40 to 50 people for a ceremony and a reception. I am thinking of hiring a private bartender service and we will provide the alcohol, and hire a caterer from the area if the hotel doesn't have great catering services.Las Vegas hotel suite to hold a 50-person wedding ceremony and reception? Thinking of Palms and MGM Grand...?
Glad I logged on and saw your question...Hotel suite option...?

Qualifying points: Yes, there are Very Large suites that can be used for such an event. They run in the few/several square feet range. They usually have bars (at least one) already in place that can be used for drink services, etc. Your greater concern or issue may regarding "budget"...you haven't clarified that yet. These suites, the ones that can accomodate a ceremoney AND reception, usually range from $2,000++ (taxes, etc) up to $10,000 per night, depending on which property, night of the week/weekend, etc. Most/many properties "require" you to use their in-house food %26amp; beverage facilities (Room Service/Banquet departments) which have prices that are just "silly" for an 'in-house' service, depending on the property, the food is 'okay' or good...never found one that's "great". With some properties, we can get around ththe whole in-house catering. In those cases, as you know, you have to pay an outside caterer to bring in food and equipment of their own...of course those costs depend upon the type of food and quantity. (I have preferred private caterers and local restaurants that also cater parties for these types of events.) Additionally, I have "professional" bartenders (some of which work at the properties you've mentioned) for their 'regular job' and bartend for us on the side...it's always good to have someone who knows what they are doing...handling your needs!

You can click on my profile, send me an email if you'd like more help, details, etc...If you already have a date and or a budget in mind...that would help. Once you contact me by email, I'll forward you the company ph# etc...I try to not promote my company too excessively on YA, but offer good, informed advice as answers and when 'appropriate'...refer to my company.

But hey...while I'm at it..."We can help with the complete 'event planning' package of services, pre-wedding dinner reservations/parties, limos, etc...as much or as little as you wish. If you can imagine it, and have a reasonable budget for it..we can find a way to make it happen!"

Note: There are Banquet rooms in the hotels you can "rent" and decorate...and there are local (ouside the hotels) spots with good options as well, and outside catering there is welcomed!

**For those who answer, and don't know better...conventions (such as the one I'm involved in) "regularly" host "in-suite" parties...in banquet rooms/meeting rooms inside the hotels...as well as in some of the larger suites (again, some range into the several sq ft) for much more than 40-50 people...It's a matter of budget, not availability. (Done this for a Living for years.)
Geez .. that is going to not only cost a bundle but be near impossible. You should start by hiring a wedding planner here in Vegas. You can find them listed in the phone book. You better have deep pockets.Las Vegas hotel suite to hold a 50-person wedding ceremony and reception? Thinking of Palms and MGM Grand...?
What you need is a convention room and not a hotel suite. Call the hotels directly and get quotes.
No hotel in the city will allow a party like this in one of their suites. 40-50 is just too many people, and NO hotel will allow you to bring your own food, alcohol and staff. You have to use their catering or nothing.
May work at the American Legion or Elks lodge, but your plan will never happen on the resort corridor.

    Live here.

    Sorry.

Will the new MGM Grand Detroit allow minors in the hotel?

Does anyone know if the new MGM Grand detroit will allow minors to stay in the hotel. I ask because I have heard that minors will not even be allowed to step foot ANYWHERE on the property. This seems like they would not be able to compete with Vegas, Atlantic City, and just about any other Casino Resort. I really want to know because soon I want to make a reservation possibly with a minor if they allow that. and if there are any articles on it, please post. Thank You : )Will the new MGM Grand Detroit allow minors in the hotel?
No one under 21 on the premises.

That has been the law in Michigan since Casinos came to Detroit.

Seems rather unfair to a returning service man or woman who has already gambled with their life, but that is the law in Michigan.
Bill isn't correct on this one. Minors ARE allowed to stay in the hotel and are also allowed in the Wolfgang Puck restaurant. I was told this while I was taking a media tour. It's a fact.

Hatton vs Pacquiao weigh in @ MGM Grand?

I was wondering how the weigh-in works at the MGM Grand.. I'm planning on going to the weigh-in on Friday. Does anyone know where it normally is and how to get in to watch it??Hatton vs Pacquiao weigh in @ MGM Grand?
OK. Here's what you do. The weigh in is on Friday May 1 at 2:30 pm at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Get there EARLY because there will be THOUSANDS of Brits and Pinoys over there. The weigh in is free and open to the public so just make sure you get there like an hour or so before it starts. Good luck and have fun.
I would say that it will be at around midday on Friday afternoon at the garden arena the same place where the fight will be held, get there early as there will be thousands of Hatton fans queuing for hours to get a spot at the weigh in thousands will be locked out. A top tip is don't walk through the casino in the MGM to get to the arena, instead get a taxi driver to drop you round the back entrance, i did this at the Hatton Vs Mayweather fight by complete accident and all i had to do was go up a set of escalators when i walked through the back door and i was right at the front of the queue with thousands behind me.Hatton vs Pacquiao weigh in @ MGM Grand?

I have a question about MGM Grand (las vegas) esp. to the ladies...?

guys and gals- to those who have stayed at the mgm grand, how nice did you think the rooms were?ok look, i dont care for the casino, or the shows........its just very important to me that the rooms are nice and clean. i may sound crazy, but thats important to me. the websites have really nice pics of the rooms, you know, fancy and modern and all.........are they like what they are on the pictures? thanks in advance for your answersI have a question about MGM Grand (las vegas) esp. to the ladies...?
Yes they are clean and nice
The rooms were cleaner and nicer than many of the Strip hotels I've stayed at. Nothing special though. The standard cheap rooms overlook the roof of the casino and have ugly lights shining at the building -- basically the view was one of the uglier views I've had.

The Signature suites at MGM are often on sale and that's where I'll stay the next time I go to MGM. They're somewhat upscale, newer, and I would imagine housekeeping gives them a bit of extra attention.I have a question about MGM Grand (las vegas) esp. to the ladies...?
I also are very picky about were I stay and how clean the rooms are.

I have stayed there but not one of my favorites.

My favs for rooms size and cleansliness are Mandalay,Ballys,Planet Hollywood.

But dont let everyone elses opinion change your mind. These are our opinions

you should just go have fun and if the room isnt clean complain that its not to your

standards, youd be surprise how easily they will accomodate you. Its Vegas baby!
The rooms at the MGM Grand are good. Every time I have stayed there I have never encountered a problem. If you are looking for somewhere a little more fancy I would recommend the Wynn or Bellagio.
the website pictures should show what the rooms at the MGM hotel really look like.
Yes there rooms are nice but if you really want a romance place stay at the Venetian
The MGM is a very nice Hotel with plenty to see and do. enjoy yourself.

I'm finishing off a road trip and staying at the MGM Grand in Vegas. My car rental is with Dollar and I've arranged to return the car at the hotel. I'm a bit worried about finding where to drop the car off and was wondering if car rental return is well signposted or if I'm meant to park it in the self-parking garage and then let them know where I left it? It's probably a stupid question but it's the small things that make me anxious about this drive!Car rental drop-off at MGM Grand, Vegas?

There is most likely a desk at the hotel. Pull up to the hotel, find the desk, and tell them you are dropping the car off.

MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question? PLEASE HELP?

Hello, Im looking to go to a concert at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Miley Cyrus will be performing there at September 27. I wanna go so bad but do you have to be 21 to go because im only 13. My mom would take me but would i have to be over 21 just to go?

MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question? PLEASE HELP?
No, the concert area is separate from the casino. You'll have no problems getting in.MGM Grand at Foxwoods , Connecticut Question? PLEASE HELP?
Children can go into a casino, as long as they don't go out onto the casino floor and loiter. The concert hall at Foxwoods is a separate area from the casino itself, so there is no reason why you can't go see your concert. I can't believe they would hold a Miley concert in a venue where young people under 21 could not go.....those kids are her biggest fans.

Has anyone ever stayed at the MGM grand hotel?

I'm going to LV over break, I'm staying there with my family, and my sister and I are sharing a "glamour suite." Has anybody been there or stayed in one of those rooms. we usually stay in another hotel when we go to Vegas.Has anyone ever stayed at the MGM grand hotel?
MGM was the first hotel i stayed in on my first visit to LV in 1992. I had my 3 kids (ages, 4-7years old at that time), husband, sister and mother-in-law in tow. The hotel was just refurbished during that time and yes, the room we had was really great! In fact we had a 2-BR suite accommodation in place of the 2-double rooms we have reserved earlier and the best part was, we got it for the regular room price!

    MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?

We stayed in the MGM last year, and were very happy with the hotel. Is Planet Hollywood comparable? Which would you choose?MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?
I will pick MGM Grand over PH any day.
I've seen the Planet Hollywood rooms and they are extremely nice. I would say they are nicer than the standard rooms at the MGM Grand.

-That said, MGM Grand has special rooms (in "The Loft" or the "Signature Suites") that are pretty sweet (but pricy). Also the MGM has renovated some of their towers with new beds and new TV's.

-Planet Hollywood is not discounting their rooms because of the economic crash. They are giving away more free stuff.MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?
I stayed at PH when it was Aladdin and have stayed many times at MGM. The bathrooms ate PH are better than MGM but to me is it, the pool is poor at PH and the rooms small and the windows even smaller. MGM for me
I prefer MGM because of the great pool scene. When you decided where to stay check the current hotel promo codes on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - perhaps you can save some money with these codes.
No choice. MGM which is huge and across the street from Tropicana on one corner, Excalibur %26amp; Luxor %26amp; Mandalay Bay on another, and NYNY %26amp; Monte Carlo on the other. PH is small and not the easy access of other casinos like MGM.

Has anybody stayed at MGM Grand Tower Rooms?

Do the MGM Grand Tower Rooms have little refrigerators in there rooms????Has anybody stayed at MGM Grand Tower Rooms?
They do not have refriderators in the room you may b able to book one for $15 it is rare for nay room in vegas to have a fridge. The rooms are great some of the biggest standard rooms in Vegas all have tubs and showers and a nice sofa, the MGM GRand beds are the most comftable that I have ever slepty on, more so even than Wynn, Encore or Venetian !

  • MGM Grand Hotel+Flight?

I went to the MGM Grand website and decided to see what kind of deal I could get from booking my flight and hotel together through them. I was planning on being there August 19th-August 24th and for 5 nights and a round-trip flight it came out to be $590.95 a person. I was initially confused because this price is cheaper than the price of just the hotel alone. So does this sound right and has anybody had experience booking their flight and hotel all through the MGM Grand?MGM Grand Hotel+Flight?
I don't know where you are coming from but I just put in a departing airport with LV destination and MGM package deal on Orbitz is $150 cheaper than hotel alone. So it must be correct .. however if you go to http://www.sidestep.com/vacations and check out their vacation packages. I was real surprised at the prices.

Redid it for St. Louis and still came up with the same pricing but you have to remember that a vacation deal is based on 2 people not one. If you reserve a room only it is two people in the room so you would have to double the airfare to compare. Still that is a good deal at $1054 for two air/hotel. You also have to remember what flight you choose affects the price immensely. The flight for the package deal is not the most desirable one. Change it to the flight you originally wanted and see where the price goes.
THe prices for the hotel will vary the only way to get the best price is to goto the hotel dircet and book the flight seperatly that wil give you the best possible price.

it would be better to wait for the official announcement around january 11 2010. there are of course pre-announcements. the fighters only agreed- they did not officially sign any contract yet. plus, there is a gag order on the contents of the contract. so we don't really know if they even had the 50/50 split.

Luxury Suite at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay or Skylofts at the MGM Grand?

I will spend my vacation in Las Vegas next month. Last time I went there I stayed at the Skylofts and I had a GREAT time. I was searching on line for new properties and I found the luxury suites at THEhotel. I am a big fan of high tech amenities and the Skylofts were above my expectations. Can someone who has stayed in one of the luxury suites at THEhotel describe it in details (amenities, price, services...)? If you have been at the Skylofts you could compare each other. For example, I know that the Skylofts offer free drinks, free movies, free airport transportation... Please, note that I would like information about the luxury suites, not the regular suites. Thank you.Luxury Suite at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay or Skylofts at the MGM Grand?

LOL, grab a coin bucket from a little old lady on the slots and start to walk away. Security will show you the door in nothing flat (although you might wind up in a less friendly environment for a few hours).
i dont know if you can! are you in your hotel room? - you might be able to jump out of your window!
I don't think these people have been to MGM Grand. It's ginormous and really confusing.

Anyway, walk over to a blackjack table and swipe somebody's chips. The security will promptly drag you out (if they remember where the exit is).

Does anyone know what the price range is for the new skyloft suites at the MGM Grand hotel?Skyloft Suites at the MGM Grand Hotel?
I called the hotel to get your answer and here it is:

The one-bedroom Skyloft Suites start at $800 a night, but can go up as high as $1800. The two-bedroom ones range from $1200 to $2200.

That's a big range, I know, and it all depends on when you get go. Generally, it's more expensive to stay at the weekends. My contact told me that to get the best price, you'd need to be staying mid-week during a time when there weren't any special events or conferences going on.

    Hope that helps!
You can get a great deal during the week Sunday through Thursday as low as $600 per night, but on the weekend expect to pay $1,200+. And if there's a special event in town there's no limit.

Mirage, NY NY, Treasure Island or MGM Grand?

I'm looking for a hotel casino on the strip that has nice renovated rooms without paying a fortune. I think I have narrowed it down to the Mirage, NY NY, Treasure Island or MGM Grand. I'm leaning towards the Mirage for the room and NY NY for the atmosphere. We are 3 couples in their mid 40's looking for a long weekend of fun.Mirage, NY NY, Treasure Island or MGM Grand?
TI has just been sold and they said they plan no changes. The Mirage has the latest renovations of your list but the Venetian is the last major renovation doing every room last year. Mirage is crowded and cramped but really hopping. MGM is so big you can actually get lost in there and it is a venture just to get to the strip. NYNY has a great location but there are complaints of the noise from the roller coaster if you get a room on that side. Mirage would be the best choice of the ones you listed.
I have stayed at all three and I would say MGM Grand for a number of reasons, the MGM has a very nice selection of restaurants, shops and the Lion Habitat is fun to look at as well. I didn't care for the Mirage because whenever I walked through the casino there was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. Treasure Island is nice, but it's old, not a huge selection of nice places to eat but if you like to gamble they do have a large variety of slot machines. My husband and I are frequent Vegas visitors and we regularly stay at Mandalay Bay. It's got everything you could ask for and more.Mirage, NY NY, Treasure Island or MGM Grand?
I have stayed at all of these hotels and Mirage is our favourite and TI our least. Mirage is more grown up than the rest we find that the clintele are more similar to us (late 30's couple) and we love the atmosphere, we love its a bit darker inside and more old school vegas and with all the rooms being refurbed in 2008 the rooms are awesome, the pool at Mirage is very nice as well.

We find NYNY rooms a wee bit small and we also find that it seems to be priced a bit higher than Mirage and MGM and cant see why. MGM has the largest standard rooms and the best beds in the world but it can get very busy at weekends.

    http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008鈥?/a>
I personally like MGM. I stayed there a long time ago and I'm planning on staying there in March. I really like the atmopshere and the pools are great. They have a lazy river too.

Mirage is nice too. Check out the Beetles Love Cirque Du Soleil that they have there. I saw it back in May and it's fantastic.

I think it really just depends on which theme you like the best. NYNY is really cool if you like NY, but I've heard the pool is nothing spectacular. And I haven't been in TI yet, but if your into pirates, that may be you're thing.
i personally enjoyed the harrah's when i went to vegas but then again i'm in my late 20's. you can always go in to any casino for the atmosphere and stick to your first choice for the room. unless you aren't too comfortable with the walking then pick the one with the atmosphere you really like.
The Mirage would be my pick. MGM is nice but the Mirage is in a better location.

The rooms are really nice, the price is more reasonable than the Mirage or TI %26amp; their pool is nice.

Have a good time in Vegas!
Of the four properties you mentioned, the Mirage has the newest rooms. Good rates and great location. Read the comments here from people that stayed there.

Does MGM grand hotel guest's parking have surveillance camera?

ok here's the deal...i parked my car in the guest's parking lot and when i came back, it already got scratch but i don't know who did that..it was really a big big scratch...Does MGM grand hotel guest's parking have surveillance camera?
Absolutely! And a couple of years ago, the cameras caught a group of thugs beating a maintence man to a pulp. They are in jail now.

BTW, Las Vegas is a city full of surveillance cameras. They are EVERYWHERE even in the restrooms. No longer the "eye in the sky" because they don't need those catwalks above the casinos anymore because the cameras are everywhere. Inside the casino, in the hallways of the hotel, in the parking lots, in restaurant parking lots, in convenience stores. Everywhere.
Just wanted to correct a couple things.. There's no cameras in the bathrooms, thats very against the law. And there's no cameras in the hallways of hotel/casinos where the rooms are located. The gaming control board doesn't allow that either..

Does MGM grand hotel guest's parking have surveillance camera?
Yeah they probably do but good luck getting someone to pay for the damages. Sorry doll!
I would honestly say that there probably isn't a hotel in Vegas that doesn't have cameras in their parking lots. Vegas has to be one of the most watched over cities in the world in most of its areas.. On the parking areas.. many are patroled, some do random car checks, they watch very carefully for suspicious vehicles and Some of them even have bike patrols going on.

    http://goliath.ecnext.com/coms2/gi_0199-鈥?/a>
It does have cameras.. But good luck getting them to look at it. You'll have even a harder time if you left the property after it happened.
many places do for security reasons. many are time delayed . you could ask and if you know how long and what time your car was parked there, you just might catch the person that did it.
Yes but how long they keep them and whether it was focused in the area of your car is the question. Contact the hotel security ASAP and ask.
They do have cameras, but they also have sign that said "Do not reponsible for damages to vehicle, park at own risk" or something like that.

Bellagio, venetian or signature at mgm grand hotel would u choose in vegas? and why?

I'm going to Vegas with my friend for a weekend and I'm not sure if I should stay at Bellagio, Venetian or Signature @ MGM Grand.Bellagio, venetian or signature at mgm grand hotel would u choose in vegas? and why?
I would LOVE to stay at the Venetian!!!!!!
Motel 6 ... I'd save my money for gambling.Bellagio, venetian or signature at mgm grand hotel would u choose in vegas? and why?
I would definitely choose the Venetian. It's a beautiful place and I think you can get it for a good price. The Bellagio is really upscale and costs quite a bit. The MGM is super nice, but it is far down the strip and you would have to do an awful lot of walking to get to any of the other casinos on the strip. Have a great trip!
The Venetian it is so beautiful
The Bellagio...the fountains are absolutely breathtaking and the hotel interior is amazing. The MGM is so huge, it's almost a maze and the lions are nothing special. The Venetian has an awesome buffet, but that's all I got to do there.
Venetian is the best value choice--you can often get for $100 on Priceline bidding in the five star category. . .the suites are huge for the price. . .Bellagio is great to visit, but the rooms disappoint compared to the public areas. . .don't know the Signature, but I don't like being that far south on the Strip.
I'd stay at the Venetian, its less expensive, romantic and the Bellagio is too posh. I want to relax not feel like I have to dress to the nines.
The Signature has by far the biggest and nicest rooms. And it is often cheaper. Because this is a condo/hotel, you can often get rooms at a huge discount at vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). I just got a room for 40% off and was able to stay at this 5 star hotel for about what I would have paid at a Motel 6.
I've heard awesome reviews for the Signature MGM Grand.

Check out http://www.tripadvisor.com for stories from people who have recently stayed at all.
The Signature is newest, so the rooms will be modern and MGM is trying to get the most rankings in the awards for the place.

    Bellagio is center strip

venetian is convention central, with expensive entertainment choices. but if you are looking at these 3, budget is not a problem.

There's one just down the strip from MGM grand - i think it's right next door. You might want to try to find an Imax theatre that might be showing it.

MGM Grand vs New York New York?

I am going to Vegas in December with a bunch of people who have never been. We don't want to spend a lot of money but we have narrowed our hotel choices to MGM Grand or New York New York. Which has a better view of the strip? Which has nicer rooms? Any other info will be great also. Thanks!MGM Grand vs New York New York?
If you are a group of 'loud' people maybe the NY NY casino (which is one of the loudest, most chaotic on the Strip) will be better for you, it's trying to attract young party-types.

Rooms: I prefer the MGM rooms in that they are larger and overall more comfortable. NY NY has many different rooms and whilst they are all very nice they can be quite small.

Pool: the MGM pool area is definitely better than NYNY

Strip Views: the MGM has so many rooms that some of them of course, will not have the best Strip view but, on the other hand, some will definitely have that great Strip view. It depends on your package, whether you will be assigned a Strip view or not. IT depends on how cheap your rate is and how busy they are when you arrive, as well as how early you check in.

NYNY has great Strip views, but again not all of their rooms will have a Strip view. Others will look at the Excalibur!

It really depends on what you want from your resort.
Depends on when you plan on coming. If it is during the warm weather then MGM has the better pool area. Otherwise, the NYNY would be better. You are right there on the strip and easy to get to and from. The MGM is so massive that you are way off the strip to get to and from your hotel room. No major strip casinos have loose slots. You have to go to the small casinos or a locals to do any good there. Downtown isn't as bad as the strip casinos.MGM Grand vs New York New York?
it really depends, you will have to pay top dollar for a view of the strip in any place. NYNY does have a better view of the strip. I love MGM grand better food, it has a better casino. I love to watch the lions. It is just a nicer hotel. i would stay there.
I have been to the MGM, it's AMAZING!! I never did get around to checking out NY NY but rest assured that either place will be outstanding since every hotel-casino looks like you've just entered a palace.
I dunno not my city, I don't know what ppl see in that city , for me it's just another boring city filled with hotels and casinos nothing specia,l I rather go visit butt f**ken Egypt
New York New York has a better view of the strip.
    MGM definately

Which is a better hotel to stay in Las Vegas? Caesar's Palace hotel and casino or MGM Grand Signature Hotel?

Me and my family are going to Las Vegas in July 3-July 7 2010 and I just want to know what hotel is better to stay in?Which is a better hotel to stay in Las Vegas? Caesar's Palace hotel and casino or MGM Grand Signature Hotel?
The Signature is a nice place to stay especially for a family. They have three towers and no gambling. However they are connected to the MGM Grand and you can gamble there. However it is a good walk everyday to the strip through the MGM Grand. Caesars is a classic and classy resort in the middle of the strip. For a family stay I would still recommend the Signature.
Caesar's Palace is a far better place to stay. Nicer rooms, central location, and a casino. Other nice places to look into is the Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian or Aria.Which is a better hotel to stay in Las Vegas? Caesar's Palace hotel and casino or MGM Grand Signature Hotel?
    Caesars Palace.
In my opinion, Caesar's Palace is waaaaay nicer, very nice Roman art theme, and the MGM is a bit older too, Caesar's Palace is also more into the strip, while the MGM is kind of at the end...Caesar's Palace would probably be a bit more expensive than the MGM(i think) the MGM is also much older than Caesar's Palace

    Caesar's Palace website: https://www.caesarspalace.com/casinos/ca鈥?/a>

    MGM: http://www.mgmgrand.com/
Caesars Palace is overrated. It has a better location and has more to do nearby, but Signature standard rooms are much nicer.

Caesars Palace's standard rooms are the ones in the original tower built in 1966. They have refurbished them a few times since then, but still the same basic room underneath.

Signature's standard rooms are condotel suites built and furnished in 2006.

Which do you think would be better?
    Hi,

I would go with Caesar's Palace it a nice place and a great location on the Las Vegas strip.

I would rent a car for the day.It you are staying at the MGM Grand in LV, what is the easiest way to get to the Primium outlests?
You can rent a car and drive toward Mandalay Bay, staying on Las Vegas Boulevard and in ten minutes or less you will find the Outlet. But I expect that the consierge can arrange a shuttle for you.
Talk to the concierge. They may know of a shuttle or be able to tell you which bus to get on. That is if you are talking about the Outlets on Las Vegas Blvd. If you are talking about the outlets at Primm then it would be best if you rented a car.It you are staying at the MGM Grand in LV, what is the easiest way to get to the Primium outlests?
Most big hotels have shuttles to the malls. Your front desk can tell you which malls they hit. There are 16 malls in this town so you won't have a problem finding one.

I work at the Las Vegas Outlet Center (sister to the Premium) and prefer it to the Premium.
You can take "The Deuce" which is the new double decker transit bus. The Las Vegas Outlet Center is the last stop south bound. Costs $2 a ride or $5 for an all day pass. The bus runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The wait times between buses are between 7 and 17 min., 7-8 min. during the day. Bus stops are approx. every quarter mile. To get to the Premium Outlets at the north end of town your best bet is a cab. From MGM Grand, your looking at a $20-$30 round trip. The Fashion Outlet of Las Vegas is a 40 min trip south down Las Vegas Blvd S. (about a mile from the California border). You will have to rent a car for the trip.

Signature MGM Grand Jr. Suite or Mandalay Bay Deluxe Room?

We plan on spending at least a couple of hours a day at the pool and prefer excitement to peace and quiet. If you have stayed at either or both I would appreciate your feedback! hey guys. im a little younger than the two of you, but im a local here in las vegas. from reading what you guys are looking for, i would say the mandalay bay is a way better choice. the MGM is a large hotel with honestly, nothing inside it to do but gambling. and yes, they do have an "ok" pool. the only good thing i can say about the MGM, is that its pretty much in the heart of the strip. the mandalay bay on the other hand... is a very nice, exciting hotel with alot more to do. and since you guys dont mind the walk, it would be better. the mandalay bay is on the far end of the strip, but the pool is AMAZING, the rooms are great, and you wont have one dull moment in the hotel itself. i hope i helped and you guys have a fun time when you get here!! enjoy!
I would definitely say Mandalay Bay, I have stayed at both and prefer Mandalay to MGM, although they both have their good and bad points. MGM has the lion habitat and a huge selection of restaurants, Mandalay has a nice selection of restaurants as well but Strip Steak and RM Seafood (both at Mandalay) are probably the best restaurants I have eaten at in Vegas. Mandalay also happens to have a nicer pool and seems like a more friendly casino. If you happen to choose Mandalay, ask for a room on floors 60, 61 or 62, I always stay on 62 and it's quiet and has a private elevator. Signature MGM Grand Jr. Suite or Mandalay Bay Deluxe Room?
Both are within 1/2 mile of each other. Mandalay Bay is further south on the strip but you can walk to many places. Those you can't walk to are easy to reach by taxi.

The MGM has one of the best buffets in town. I have heard that the suites are very nice and enormous, but haven't had an opportunity to stay. The Mandalay Bay is exceptionally luxurious. They have one of the best pools in town and is definitely a great place to see and be seen. It's more than a pool. It's three pools and a wave pool with a sand beach. You'll forget you're in Vegas and think you're on some tropical island. Maybe not, but it is nice.

Given the choice, I would stay at the Mandalay Bay.

Well both will offer you more peace and quiet than excitment but there is probably more excitment at Mandalay but Signature is closer to the Strip Excitment. The room at the Signature is bigger than Mandalay and will have a kitchen if this is important to you. The pool at Mandalay is more grown up and seems to have less children. I guess I am not really helping you here.
I think Mandalay Bay is going to be the place for you! It will have more of the enviroment that you want, and when you want to see more of the strip, you can take the tram to the Luxor, or Excalibur then walk to the MGM Grand or NYNY or take a quick taxi down The Strip to Planet Hollywood or Caesars. You can read a great review on Mandalay Bay at http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/Planet鈥?/a>

    Have fun!

    Opinions about the MGM Grand?

I booked a trip to Vegas at the MGM Grand, is it a good hotel to stay at? Anything I need to know about the hotel? Any tips or hints to make my stay better would be a great help. I've never stayed in Vegas before so I'm green and I just want to have a good (amazing) time.

    Thanks!Opinions about the MGM Grand?
I just recently stayed at the MGM Grand and it was my first Vegas experience as well and I loved it! It was a really nice hotel. Very BIG! The elevators are pretty central and you can go in three different directions from there so if you know where you are going its not to bad. The rooms were nice, the bathrooms were in a slight need of an upgrade but nothing to really complain about. If you like to gamble but don't like to play at the higher tables I would recommend taking the bridge over to the Tropicana. Now the Tropicana smells like mold and is ugly but they have $5 tables all day which is worth it to me! There is an abundance of Starbucks in the MGM which is always handy. We ate at the buffet there which was pretty good, also the Studio Cafe which was not fabulous but not bad. My favourite place we at was in the Wynn. I completely forget the name of it but it was awesome.

When we first checked in we asked if they could find us a room with a good view and they had no problem with that. It never hurts to ask, I think in Vegas they allow them to do a certain amount of upgrades per day or something. Also I forgot to do so but join their Players Club. You can get complimentary meals and even stays. Its free to sign up so why not!

My one complaint about the MGM is that it had this overwhelming flowery smell. It was really strong and when you left the hotel to go outside it was like you could still taste it! Its not a bad smell just to much.
No doubt you will have a great time. The MGM is fabulous, as are many of the other casinos in Las Vegas. The rooms are surprisingly average, however. Nothing special. About what you would expect if you stayed at a Days Inn.Opinions about the MGM Grand?
Hi. I've stayed at the MGM a couple of times with no problems. The rooms are nice. The place is huge, it has over 5000 rooms. The first time I actually stayed there, I found it a bit crowded and it can be a long walk to your room from the elevator so you may want to ask for something a little closer when you check in. The hotel has great restaurants. I can highly recommend Emeril's, Pearl, Nob Hill, Craft Steak, Fiamma, Diego, and Wolfgang Pucks. The Cirque Du Soleil show Ka is the main house show. In my opinion, other Cirque shows at Bellagio and Treasure Island are better. There is usually a headline act playing in another theater in the hotel.

I can't imagine visiting Vegas for the first time now. I've been going since 92 and I can't keep up with everything that the town has to offer. I found my first visit overwhelming and a bit intimidating not knowing how things work. My best advice is, try not to see everything on your first trip. Take your time getting around. Ask friends or co workers who have been there the one thing they think you shouldn't miss. You'll get a lot of different answers but that's only because Vegas is so big now. You have to at least see one show and blow a chunk of change on an expensive meal at a fine restaurant. The last thing, make sure you have some comfortable shoes because you are going to do a lot of walking! Good luck and have fun!
Wear sensible shoes. The place is SO BIG, you might get tired of walking.

I've stayed there at least twice, and I got married there.

MGM is great because there is a check in desk at the airport. It is at one end of the baggage claim area in the airport. Then you can go right to your room upon arrival.

Nobhill is good. Emeril's is over-rated.

    have fun.

Which one should i choose mgm grand or ceasars palace las vegas?

Caesars is one of the older properties on the strip but still one of the best. They have kept up with being first rate. They are more expensive than the MGM but their location, service and rooms are worth it. Nothing like telling everyone that you stayed at Caesars. Which one should i choose mgm grand or ceasars palace las vegas?
    MGM Grand. A better location.

We stayed in the MGM and it was awesome.

It is at the bottom of the strip, but their is a monorail that runs the length of the strip to get you were you want to go.Which one should i choose mgm grand or ceasars palace las vegas?
Both are great hotels. If I were to pick for you, it would probably be the MGM Grand. My mother works in the hotel industry here in Las Vegas and she says it gets good reviews. If you are looking for another hotel that is higher rated than the MGM, You should also take a look at bellagios hotel, and the four seasons.
    mgm grand

The MGM Grand is fabulous my husband and I stayed there when we got married and it was out of this world. We visited Ceasars Palace and that too was amazing. I would say there is nothing to choose from between them so go for the one with the best rates for the dates you decide.
Both hotels have their merits but based on location I would have to go with MGM Grand
I will definitely stay at the MGM Grand. Not sure when you are going but MGM Grand currently have rates from $59 /night.

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p鈥?/a>
Both hotels are fine but personally I would choose MGM. MGM has also great online promotions. You will find on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com the latest promotion codes.
MGM but my personal favourite is Luxor
Ceasars - looks nicer from the outside at least:

    http://www.bofads.com/stories/monkeyvega鈥?/a>
Im with Ivgeno on this one ,except for the buffet at the cafe lago terrible food for a 5 star hotel
Caesars is way nicer. MGM is a huge monstrosity.
Ceasars Palace. That's where im staying when we go in April :)
Caesars Palace, by far. People who say MGM is in the better location have no idea what they're talking about. Caesars has the best spot of any hotel on The Strip. Plus it has much better shopping (Forum Shops), better nightlife (Pure) and more varieties of restaurants (22 restaurants in Caesars or their mall). Imo, it has a better crowd and better vibe.

They're both 4-star hotels, so service and amenities are similar.
The MGM is amazing. We had a suite there for 10 days and it was fantastic

MGM Grand should I upgrade to West Wing - King or Bungalow King Suite ? Thoughts please.?

Is the bungalow better than the West Wing. Is the only difference space? which is more modern?MGM Grand should I upgrade to West Wing - King or Bungalow King Suite ? Thoughts please.?
I stayed at the MGM and do not remember what room I had but it was nice I suggest you go the MGM website and look at pictures of the room to make your decision. I always looked at like this for Vegas "How much time are you going to spend in your room" Good luck on your room choice and gamblingMGM Grand should I upgrade to West Wing - King or Bungalow King Suite ? Thoughts please.?
If I were you I would check out the West Wing King. These rooms are newer. This would be more modern.

I've stayed in a bungalow suite and it is just like the deluxe only a little bit bigger, it has couches and I believe it has a tub. It had an old vegas feel to it.

Out of MGM Grand and the Mirage in Las Vegas which is better to stay at?

I liked Mirage much more. The MGM is like it's own city. Not much of a "hotel" per say. The staff was much more helpful! My room was nicer at the Mirage. When you enter the hotel you hear the sounds of waterfalls, smell the exotic flora and can stand on a bridge under the 90-foot-high glass atrium while taking in the tropical surroundings. It is one of my favorite hotels. Guests waiting to check in are entertained by the aquatic life in a 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium behind the front desk. Nearly 1,000 marine life forms, including sharks, stingrays, porcupine fish, eels, sea bass and puffer fish in this aquarium. This is one reason why. Good luck!Out of MGM Grand and the Mirage in Las Vegas which is better to stay at?
Both hotels are very nice. I liked the service I received at the MGM Grand and the Lazy River. The Mirage on the other hand has nice rooms and better location on the strip. You can't go wrong with either. Look for discount codes when booking at either hotel.

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p鈥?/a>
Both hotels are very good. Mirage has a very good location and new renovated rooms. On the other side MGM has Studio54 inside and the younger crowd and also the better pool area IMO. Before you go check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find there the latest promotion codes.Out of MGM Grand and the Mirage in Las Vegas which is better to stay at?
MGM is at the end.. It's really hot right, so I would choose MIrage.
mgm is pretty nice but i heard that the mirage remodeled their rooms and i saw it online and it looks pretty nice. probably nicer than mgm in my opinion. so i would say...stay at mirage. and because the mirage is in the center of the strip so there are more things to do and more places where it's walking distance and the mgm is more towards the beginning of the strip.
Wow These are one of my favorite hotels in Vegas. I like the atmosphere in the Mirage. They have Jet for the nightclub, also have LOVE for their Cirque Du Soleil. The rooms are nice, plus their free show is pretty cool now. The location is one of the best!! MGM I think has the better pool, and more nightlife to offer for example clubs, bars, and their topless show Crazy Horse. The rooms have more space than Mirage. The location is ok but not as much action as Mirage. Also MGM for me has a lot more options when it comes to entertainment. After I turn 21, I think I've been leaning towards the Mirage more. MGM is good but you see more families. So I would stay at the Mirage. Their rooms just got renovated and the location is prime!!

Walking from Mcarran Airport to Mgm Grand Las Vegas?

im going to stay at the Mgm Grand ppl say it takes forever to catch a bus ,,,,,is it ok to walk...if so how long is the walking timeWalking from Mcarran Airport to Mgm Grand Las Vegas?
It does not look like much of a walk but it is. I recommend taking a shuttle. Cabs are the fastest but cost $$$$$$$$.
You cannot walk from the airport to MGM Grand. The airport is designed in a way that makes it impossible to walk. (there are no side walks)

You can catch a bus or just hoop into one of the hotel free shuttles and when you get to that hotel, find your way to MGM Grand. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/get-aroun鈥?/a>Walking from Mcarran Airport to Mgm Grand Las Vegas?
Yeah you could do it. It would probably take about 20-30 mins. And you would be walking on very unsafe roads.

I mean the taxi ride is only about 10-12$, so I dont know why anyone would want to walk in the stifiling heat with their luggage.
I would either take a taxi or get on the shuttle. A taxi ride to MGM grand would only be about $10, or you could take a shuttle from the airport to MGM Grand for $8.

    http://www.mgmgrand.com/amenities/airpor鈥?/a>
No matter how long you wait for a shuttle, it would not be as long as walking. Besides, there is no safe walkway. I have taken the shuttles many times and they never took very long.

    *
The hotel should have a bus or shuttle to pick you up for little or no cost.

    I wouldn't recommend walking.

    What about your luggage?

Google map the distance to the hotel.
No walking from the airport to the MGM ... for that fact no walking to anywhere from there. Even if you could walk it would be way too far to walk.
the airport is surrounded by a highway.. WAY to unsafe to walk on....MGM should have a shuttle..

MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island. Which is best?

I'm booking a room for Vegas in August and have narrowed it down to these 3 hotels. I have been to Vegas before, but never stayed on the Strip. This time I decided I wanted to stay on the strip, no farther North than Treasure Island (TI) and no farther South than the MGM Grand. If you have experience in these hotels I want to hear from you.MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island. Which is best?
Quality wise are all about the same. MGM of course is much larger than the other two, at over 6800 rooms but TI has 2800 rooms and PH has 2600. Planet Hollywood does have a large shopping mall on the ground floor, which is handy and is more middle than MGM. I find MGM to just be too crowded and spread out personally. TI is a nice location too since there is so much now on the north end- close to a number of good shows and other big hotels. Never stayed at TI but have sent employees and friends and they liked it-- we stay at Caesars generally and love their huge rooms. But tends to be expensive if the rooms aren't comp'd like we generally get.MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island. Which is best?
The MGM is probably the best of these, but Treasure Island is okay.

What is the best hotel in Vegas for first timers either MGM Grand or MGM Signature.?

staying 3 nights as a surprise which is more romanticWhat is the best hotel in Vegas for first timers either MGM Grand or MGM Signature.?
The Signature might be more romantic but it is not very Vegas like. To get to the casino you have to walk to the MGM itself since there is no casino at the Signature. Also be aware that the Signature is non-smoking.

Being your first time you might want to read the tips sheet on this site. Full of great info for first timers.
Boy, if you stay at either you had better like walking or have a car. The MGM is so big, just the walk from your room to the Strip could take 10 to 15 minutes. I am not exaggerating. I do not recommend this hotel for people who do not know the ropes. You would be far better off staying at a hotel near the middle of the Strip.

But if you do wish to stay at MGM stay at the MGM Grand itself not the Signature. The Signature is not "Vegas like". The Signature is for people who are intent on staying in their room (or in the Signature a suite). This place is plenty plush and has jacuzzi tubs etc. but it is too much removed.

I do not just mean that all that walking is tiring. Even if you are in great shape and can walk for miles without a problem, it takes way too much time. Add up all the time you spend walking from where you are to where you want to be and you can waste a full day's valuable vacation time.

So, I can only recommend the MGM or Signature if you have a car or want to take the monorail which is also a hassle because it runs behind the hotels on the East side of the Strip and does not stop at all of them. There is still a lot of walking from the monorail stations to the hotels.

*What is the best hotel in Vegas for first timers either MGM Grand or MGM Signature.?
I had my first time in Vegas Jan of this year and we stayed the the MGM Grand. I wouldn't have had it any other way. The Signature is supposed to be more luxury but the rooms in the Grand were huge and very nice and there is a club inside and you can see a show right there if you want to. There is the mono rail attached to it so you can get out and explore other areas of the strip without having to fight the crowds on the street and there are cheap places to eat inside too.

I think it was a perfect pick for our first time there and would be for yours as well.
Signature is newer, if I recall correctly, but quite honestly, you won't spend much time in your room. You could probably get a cheaper hotel elsewhere with a room upgrade for the same price of a standard room there. Though Imperial Palace isn't the high end hotel, it is in the middle of the strip, and you can get a 'luv tub' right in your room. I think some even overlook the strip.
You will like either. If you need less noise then choose the Signature since it's a non-gaming property. Mandalay Bay is also nice. Book online and save.

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>
Both are good. Signature is time share and not attache ddirectly to the casino.

my family and I are planning on going to las vegas, but we wanted to know which hotel is better

thanksWhich hotel is better in las vegas, trump international, NY NY, or MGM grand?
You've got a fairly wide range of facilities there.

Trump is a beautiful and classy hotel, but there is no casino and it's a little bit off the strip. It's also pretty expensive.

NYNY is more of a budget-friendly place. It has a very cool casino floor and some great casual bars and restaurants. But it's nothing special in terms of rooms and other amenities.

MGM is a huge resort with lots of things to do and a fantastic pool area. The rooms are nice, although it can take forever to get to your room since the place is so big. But it would be my pick of those 3 hotels on your list.
I don't like NY NY at all, Trump is very nice but higher priced. I like MGM the best!Which hotel is better in las vegas, trump international, NY NY, or MGM grand?

What was attendance at the mayweather fight at the mgm grand?

I was there and the atmosphere was fantastic. Even though it was a lopsided fight, it was still exciting and entertaining. Plus Mayweather pretty much proved that he is the P4P champ. What was attendance at the mayweather fight at the mgm grand?
maybe 2000 attended and 200,000 PPV sell hahaha and no sell at the theater. I watch that fight and it was boring and a waste of money. No more buy for Maywaster fight.
don't knowWhat was attendance at the mayweather fight at the mgm grand?
I don't know what the attendance was, but for the undercards it was not full, maybe 2 or 3k empty seats. By the time the main event started I didn't see any empty seats. I got there just at the end of the Katsidis fight. Either way it was a great show of Mayweather's skills, I know Mayweather was bigger, but size really didn't play a major role IMO, Mayweather beat him with speed, accuracy, and defense, it didn't matter the weight.
I heard paid attendance was about 13,500 at the arena, which is well short of capacity,

I haven't heard about the PPV buys or attendance at movie theaters.

What have your experiences been with the MGM Grand?

Quite frankly, I've worn myself ragged every time I set foot in the door there. It's a HUGE place. You'll walk forever just getting across the casino. I understand the rooms are nice, but there are much nicer ones down the Strip, for instance, the Venetian, Wynn, Mirage and TI, Ceasars, too. There's a couple a very nice places to eat there though. Emeril's Fish House, Craftsteak and the Rainforest Cafe (which has AWESOME Jungle atmosphere)What have your experiences been with the MGM Grand?
i agree the casino is SUPER huge and confusing. but thats the point! your tired? sit and spend more money. it is really nice other than that. it is on the south side of the strip with the M%26amp;M shop and a movie theater right next door.
The hotel itself is so nice! The beds were amazing! But the casino was horrible! It was big and confusing at first. The slots were all the same and not very fun. Hardly any video slots. Next time I'll stay someplace else...

last trip there in April '07What have your experiences been with the MGM Grand?
We stayed there for our first trip in Vegas several years ago. It's a decent hotel, ok location, ok amenities. Probably worth what you pay for it.
I've never stayed there, but I've eaten in the cafe and it wasn't very good. We saw George Carlin in the Hollywood Theater there and that was fun.

Paris or MGM Grand - where would you recommend?

I'm trying to decide which hotel to stay at while in Vegas in November this year.

Which would you choose? Paris or MGM?Paris or MGM Grand - where would you recommend?
It is a matter of person taste. The Paris is very nice and well situated but has a rather disappointing pool. The MGM is massive and has a very nice pool. What you must consider and few who have never experienced it can imagine, is the size of the the MGM Grand. Once you check in you will realize that you have a long walk just to get to your room. When you are ready to go out and explore the Strip you have another long walk just to get to the front door. The West wing rooms are small, the Grand Tower rooms are larger. All are very nice and the pool is, great.

So, if the pool is an important part of your vacation, MGM. If you do not like to walk, Paris. The MGM and Paris are both served by the Monorail but it is only useful to move from one end of the Strip to the other. You see, it runs behind the hotels and it is a long walk just to get to the Monorail station. It does not pay to make a short hop in it. I included link to a map that shows you the stops.

I gave you a few other helpful links, too.

    Good Luck!

    *
Definitely MGM Grand. The rooms are nice and the pools with the lazy river is the place to be.

Paris is too crowded and over rated. Book rooms at the MGM Grand through their website and get the best deals. The always have internet specials. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p鈥?/a>Paris or MGM Grand - where would you recommend?
I think Paris is a lot cheaper than MGM Grand, but MGM Grand is cooler. I liked Paris a lot, but I got bored in there after awhile. MGM Grand is huge and has a bunch of stuff to do, lots of shows, closer to other cool casinos. Plus there are real live lions in there. So I guess my point is, if you have the money, I'd say MGM
I am not a big fan of either. They are not bad, I just MGM too big and confusing, and paris to be a little overpriced and the pool kinda stinks.

But it kinda depends what you are looking for. Pool scene and younger crowd? MGM. Better location and nicer rooms? Paris.
Paris would be the best choice. It has a great location and the rooms are better. The MGM is so large that it takes forever just to get to and from your room to the strip. Neither would be a bad choice.
Hands up for MGM, it is cooler and it has very nice rooms IMO. You can also get great room specials for this hotel. Try http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/categ鈥?/a> and you will find the latest MGM Grand promotion code offers.
I've been to Las Vegas twice and both times I stayed at the MGM. It's definitely a nice hotel and not as smokey as other hotels are. The beds are really comfortable and there are several starbucks in mgm (i suggest you go to all three, one of them are far better than the other two by taste [they put the perfect amount of everything where the others tasted too strong or something])

There is a lion exhibit in the hotel as well which is pretty cool to check out as well. there are usually two lions visible.
I think they are both a little overpriced for what they offer.

Paris is in a better location on the strip. It's central, Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood is right next door, and some of the rooms at Paris have views of the Bellagio fountains.

MGM Grand has a better atmosphere. It's less stuffy and the decor is less old fashioned. It's a little more modern and the rooms are nicer.

I don't think you should worry about the pool scene because if you are going in November, chances are you won't be able to swim. Not sure about these hotels, but some hotels close the pools starting in November.

My favorite hotel on the strip is the Mirage. It's also in a good location, the rooms are newly renovated, modern, and huge, and I think you can get a better price there than Paris or MGM Grand. For the record, it has a great pool too if you are able to use it.
Paris is way nicer. The MGM is older and the rooms are not even on the same level as the Paris.
I would with Paris if it was just me and my wife/girlfriend, if i have kids then the MGM would be the better choice.
MGM is a much bette hotel overall.
    It kind of depends-

If you are going with your bf or husband I'd go to Paris. It's nice and it's romantic. Plus it's in the middle of the strip.

If you aren't go MGM. It's really nice and has a cool lion exhibit inside. The only bad thing is it's at one end of the strip.
Paris as it is more centrally located. Right next to Bellagio and Planet Hollywood.

MGM is too...grand. You can get lost in the place.

  • Which Las Vegas Hotel is better, MGM Grand or Excalibur?

A Group of guys are going down there for a bachelor party and don't want to spend that much money on a hotel. Can anyone give some insight into our situation on the two hotels? Thanks.Which Las Vegas Hotel is better, MGM Grand or Excalibur?
MGM is much better than Excalibur. It's a huge place, with lots to do. Excalibur is a fine choice for a budget hotel, but it's not really a bachelor party kind of place, and it's older and not nearly as nice.
MGM is the better choice BUT beware, the property is HUGE!!!! Going back and forth to your hotel room will take some effort.

Excalibur is more affordable, easier to access but is an older property. I've stayed here before and it's old with no frills but clean and convenient. A lot of families choose this property because there's stuff for kids to do. Pool area is really busy with the families. I've noticed though, that a lot of people LOVE to hang out at the Excalibur. It's one of the liveliest places even on Monday nights. Fun place to gamble, drink and conveniently located.

For a bunch of guys on a budget, I would stay at the Excalibur. You're gonna need your cash to party and a room is just to crash and shower right?Which Las Vegas Hotel is better, MGM Grand or Excalibur?
MGM best out of the two. You can read the reviews and know about it better. Excalibur also has good reviews.

MGM Grand hotels, Las Vegas http://hotels.americacheaphotels.com/Hot鈥?/a>

Excalibur Hotel and Casino Las Vegas http://hotels.americacheaphotels.com/Hot鈥?/a>
MGM grand blows Excalibur out the water! Better restaurants, one of the best pools in vegas, plus they have a lazy river you can rent inner-tubes and float around. They have a killer sports book. Casino is just 3 times better then excalibur, rooms are nicer. Try Emerils restaurant, its awesome!
In my experience MGM Grand is better. It has a fabulous pool area, nicer rooms and a better casino. It has also Studio 54 inside which is great. Before you book I recommend to visit http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find there the latest promo codes for MGM, Excalibur and other Las Vegas hotels. This can save a lot of money.
There is no comparison. MGM Grand is way better than the Excalibur. Better pool, cleaner rooms, great service, newer hotel. Use MGM Grand discount codes when booking to save money if you are on a budget. Here are a few codes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>
mgm grand does have nicer rooms and a slightly better location...but when ur in vegas how long are u really in the room for? if ur like me the room is to shower and sleep (maybe). just get the cheaper one and use the money u guys save to party or gamble more
MGM Grand is the better of the two. MGM is always a safe bet.
MGM hands down. MGM has decent rates too.

Mgm grand las vegas discount tickets?

hi, i'm planning a trip to mgm grand in las vegas and i want tickets ti the KA cirque du soleil show in the hotel.

my question is: if you are staying in the hotel do you get discount show tickets at the box office??Mgm grand las vegas discount tickets?
The only chance you have is to check out the discount ticket booths around town. I have seen some cirque shows for half price there in the past but you have a better chance of them on weekdays rather than weekends. Money isn't flowing here like in the past years. Everyone wants a deal and will hold on to their money.
I just called the hotel show reservation line and they informed me that guests staying at the MGM Grand receive 40% off KA tickets, but the only catch is you have to purchase them at the box office in person. Not sure you want to risk the chance of a sell out show! Unless your dates are flexible.

go to the Cirque du Soleil show " LOVE" its fantastic especially if your a fan of the Beatles music I've seen it 3 times and every time I see something that I missed from the previous show...Also sit in the belcony if you sit on the 1st level you get covered with a big sheet and miss part of the show
Well i actually just got back from Vegas and i was able to get a buy one get one ticket free for KA. All i had to do was get a rewards card and the lady told us that we would get that if we do. Remember, rewards cards are free so don't worry about that. And when you do get one dont be afraid to ask if there are any promotions out for getting them. Also we bought the tickets that same day and and were still able to get two 7th row seats dead center for $175, normally 350 so do take my advice. Ok one last thing the show is absolutely amazing!!!! good luck with your ticket search
You don't get discount staying at the casino hotel. You could get complimentary tickets if you get a reward card and accumulate points by gambling at the casinos. You get points by the money you gamble so even if you win more than you gamble, you still get points.
No you don't get discounts to KA for staying at the MGM Grand. However you get 25% KA tickets if you stay at Circus Circus. Here is the promo code.

May I respectfully suggest calling the MGM Grand and asking them?

Whats a good hotel near or in between the mandalay bay & mgm grand in VEGAS!?

taking a trip to las vegas and want to find a hotel in between mgm grand and the mandalay bay casino.help me out pleaseWhats a good hotel near or in between the mandalay bay %26amp; mgm grand in VEGAS!?
Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor. All 3 are good hotels. Here is a good site that will tell you about them.

    http://www.vegas.com/resorts/
Your four choices are the Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana or New York New York. Excalibur will give you the best rates and I will not recommend the Tropicana.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p鈥?/a>Whats a good hotel near or in between the mandalay bay %26amp; mgm grand in VEGAS!?
LOL Mandalay Bay is next to Luxor which is next to Excalibur which is across the corner from MGM Grand, Tropicana, NYNY and Monte Carlo
The only hotels between them are Tropicana, Excalibur, and Luxor. You might count NYNY since it's across the street from MGM.

Tropicana is older and showing its age, although they've been renovating it lately. The others are all nice enough places, and they all tend to have good rates.
The only hotels between them are Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor and NYNY.

NYNY is really popular and lots of people love to hang out there. Rooms are nice and decent and prices are pretty fair. Excalibur...cheap but too family oriented mixed up with all the drunk, excessively loud thirtysomethings. Pretty annoying. Tropicana is an older property but still really popular. I've always had a really good time at the Tropicana and have no complaints.
Excalibur, Luxor and Tropicana are between Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand. From these hotels I would choose Luxor, it is a nice hotel with good reasonable rates. Before you book I recommend to visit http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find there the latest hotel promo codes for these and other hotels as well. This can save you some bucks.
