MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, NV?

Does anybody know what the Garden arena is like?

I have seats U217, and i know they aren't the best.

but can you see from them?

and do you know if you can get there early to see the band as they arrive?MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, NV?
you can see but bring binoculars if you have a pair, the small compact size.

You wont be able to see the band unless security lets you.

Foxwoods Vs. MGM Grand Foxwoods?

I know that these hotels are pretty much the same in CT.. however I have never been to either so I was just wondering which would be more recommended for a group of 23-25 year olds. Also, any recommendations of night life would be great as well for either hotel.

Thank you!!!Foxwoods Vs. MGM Grand Foxwoods?

LAS VEGAS. MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?

which would you rather stay in and why? its just a 2 night stay.LAS VEGAS. MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?
    Planet Hollywood.

    It is newly remodeled.
Stay at the Signatue at MGM Grand. it is directly across from the MGM on the strip and they are Suites Not just ordinary hotel rooms. Stay at Jet Luxury Resorts @ Signature MGM Grand and get a suite for the same price (or lower because they will beat any quoted price from the MGM). see this page!!! It has virtual tours so you see what you are really getting.

http://www.jetluxuryresorts.com/signature-mgm-grand/index.cfmLAS VEGAS. MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood?
I would go with Planet Hollywood because it's all brand new. And it's closer to the center strip.

Room quality at either property is going to depend on which room you select. There are 5 or more different price levels of rooms you can choose at either property when you book. Choose the cheapest room and it's not going to impress you, whether it's MGM or PH.
It is mostly a matter of personal taste or preference. Personally, I would select Planet Hollywood. It is much more conveniently located. MGM Grand is much too large. It is a long walk just to get from the parking lot or front desk to your room. That eats up a lot of time and energy. At Paris there is way less walking.

If you have never been to Vegas you have no idea how much walking is involved.

    *
I would definetly stay at the Planet Hollywood. It's location is much better than the MGM. And the rooms are nicer.

The MGM is just too big and kinda boring and dull.

Plus Planet Hollywood has a really cool mall attached with tons of good restaurants.
I will stay at the MGM Grand. The rooms are really nice, the service is great and there are lots to do at the MGM Grand. They also have lots of deals and discounts when you book using their promotion codes.

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>

Everyone at the PH seem to have a chip on their shoulder
MGM Grand. It is easy walking to NYNY, Monte Carlo, Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. PH is NOT as easy access to that many casinos.

MGM is a huge casino compared to PH, quieter.
Hands up for MGM Grand. I like the hotel but also PH is a good choice. PH has the better location but MGM has a really great pool. Before you book check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - it has the latest promo codes.
We've stayed at several places including MGM and Planet and will only stay at MGM from now on! It is a gorgeous property, great rooms, nice pool, nice atmosphere and classier. We're big MGM fans!
Planet Hollywood! My friend works their.

Miracle Mile shop and restaraunts and Pinks Hot Dog on the outside facade on the strip.
MGM Grand by far is the the classier of the two.
    both are fine..
MGM. I've stayed at both places and MGM has much nicer rooms and staff.

Can anyone give me their opinion on the Terrace Suites at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas please?

We are planning a wedding in June of '09 and I was thinking that we would have the wedding in the Terrace Suites at the MGM. Las Vegas offers "traveling ministers" (go figure) and I thought this would be an alternative to the wedding chapels and the cost of those. Although, I realize that the Terrace Suites are expensive too, I'd rather have a private ceremony with our guests, and a small reception on the terrace, then go out for dinner and who knows after.

Does anyone know of any other "terrace suites" overlooking the strip in Las Vegas. I've been looking online and there isn't much that is advertized.

Thanks for your help! Can anyone give me their opinion on the Terrace Suites at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas please?
I stayed at a Terrace Suite. It was big %26amp; like being in someone's apartment. It didn't have much of a view of the strip (B/C of where MGM is located...we just saw NY, NY). I would definitely want to see the room before I booked a wedding there. How many people are you thinking of having? Think about a 1 bedroom apartment. Would you hold a wedding in that?
The rooms are great and about the most expensive ones you can get on the strip. It's for dumb, wealthy tourists who don't care what they spend. You'll have a great view and all the amenities - and by the way, any "BELLHOP CAPTAIN" can marry guests above the 5th floor (just a joke). The terrace itself is too small to hold a wedding on and too noisy too - you get all the traffic noise from Tropicana Blvd. and the Strip.

I'll tell you why I will never go to MGM for a room:

    1) The parking is a really long way from the room. It takes too long to get to your vehicle and you have difficulty finding a parking space when the hotel is really busy. Not taking a car or renting one? Good, you'd have difficulty finding it if you did.

    2) There are LINES to register and to check out which are simply staggering. If you go on the weekend plan to spend an hour coming and going, just waiting for your turn in line.

    3) There are even some LINES to get on the elevators - if you love standing in lines and being packed in with tourists who have not bathed in 24 hrs and all smell like alcohol, well then, you've picked the right place. MGM has 5,000 rooms and is the LARGEST HOTEL ON THE PLANET.

    4) SERVICE IS SLOW everywhere you go in the hotel - there is simply no way to service all the customers when the hotel is busy.

    5) I enjoy the atmosphere at MGM, but I get tired of it pretty quickly and I prefer smaller casinos which really appreciate your business and where they wait on you hand and foot. There are MANY VERY NICE HOTELS which offer great rooms for a FRACTION OF THE PRICE AT MGM. Check on line for all the bargains.

Edit: Looks like some employee at MGM is handing all of us a thumbs down. Figures. Still, I like the MGM but my tastes are leaning toward more intimate surroundings and better personalized service by a hotel staff. At MGM the men will enjoy the cocktail waitressed in push-up bras and short skirts - really some of the best in Vegas.

EDIT #II Why are you being so controling? Your questions aren't the sort that are generally asked in this forum of total strangers. Two of us have actually stayed at the MGM and we gave you our opinions already. If you are acting as a front for MGM and looking for free advertising that is inappropriate and not permitted by Y/A. If you are sincere you should contact the hotel directly, take a virtual tour, or seek out a good psychic. Can anyone give me their opinion on the Terrace Suites at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas please?
I can't offer any advice on this myself, but a very good resource for information like this is the Las Vegas forum on the Trip Advisor web site.

    Planet Hollywood vs. MGM Grand?

If I can get the same deal at either hotel which would you choose? We are 3 party gals celebrating my girlfriend's 30th birthday. Is PH more centrally located? Any help is appreciated.Planet Hollywood vs. MGM Grand?
I would suggest the PH as the MGM is so huge that it takes forever just to get from your room to the strip. PH is better located on the strip. Here is a page with some great tips on your first visit to Vegas. Lots of great information.
Planet Hollywood is definitely more centrally located, and they have one of the BEST buffets in Vegas. It is located across the street from Bellagio and next door to Paris. There is really only a 15 minute walk between MGM Grand and PH, but if it were the same deal I would choose Planet Hollywood, I think they are both about equal on their amenities, but MGM Grand probably has a better pool area since they have a lazy river and all.

Another thing is, there is a free shuttle to Rio located in the driveway right where PH meets Paris, and Rio has the other BEST buffet in Vegas, and some great night clubs/lounges.

I am actually surprised that you found a deal with PH that was equal to some of the specials that MGM Grand is running, unless it is on a weekend. Check out this deal just to make sure you found the best deals out there http://smartervegas.com/ They list all of the hotel's promotional offers, so send you directly to the hotel website to book.

If you are interested in any shows, sign up for this free website http://www.goldstar.com/?p=f691450ff27 They currently have specials on Le Reve @ Bellagio, Penn %26amp; Teller @ Rio, Blue Man Group @ Venetian, and Danny Gans @ Wynn. Blue Man Group, which is normally $140, is on sale here for $85.

Just for reference, here is a great interactive strip map so you can see the locations of all of the hotels http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/stay/鈥?/a>

South Strip includes most of the action.Planet Hollywood vs. MGM Grand?
Just went to PH in Oct. for my 35th. It is very fun and def. centrally located. You go to the left and there's NY, NY, Monte Carlo, Luxor, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur...you go to the right and there's Paris, Bellagio, Caesar's, Venetian, Mirage, TI, Harrah's, Flamingo, Wynn.

    Enjoy!

PH has a great mall and nice places to eat like Koi (if you like sushi) and Strip House (if you like steak...and the 24-layer chocolate cake, if you like dessert). They also have a coffee shop/cafe called Dailies which is good for breakfast.
PH is centrally located and it has a nice casino but I would choose MGM because their great pool areas. But you cannot go wrong with any of these hotels. Have you checked http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com ? You will find there the latest promotion offers for these and other hotels as well.
PH is better. MGM isnt anything special to me but it is bigger.
PH is more central, and would probably be more fun for a 30th bday.
PH is in the middle of Strip and has night clubs you would enjoy

    The Signature at MGM Grand?

Has anyone ever stayed here? What was your experience? Looks to be relatively nice for the money. Please give all feedback - good and bad. Or any other suggestions for me and hubby - want something a little romantic for 10 year anniversary. The Signature at MGM Grand?
I didn't stay there, but I just got back from Vegas yesterday and we checked out every casino. The MGM Grand is HUGE. That could be a problem, because, speaking to people that did stay there, it takes a half an hour to get from anywhere to your room. It really is a city within itself. Another problem is its on the end of the strip, so if you want to see anything else, its really far away. It is on the monorail, which is good if you don't mind paying $15 a day for an all-day pass. As for romance, the Venetian or Paris is nice but costly. Ceasar's Palace had a pretty good ambiance for romance, and is more affordable.

We decided when we go back, we're staying at Ceasar's Palace (great environment and location) or Mandalay Bay (fantastic environment, bad location)

If you stay at MGM Grand, DO NOT expect to where cute shoes. Stick with tennies, or your feet will be a wreck. Trust me, the blisters are still healing.
I would not call MGM Grand romantic. It is a nice hotelThe largest in the world with over 5000 rooms. That should tell you something. It is nice but crowded. For a romantic hotel, depending on you budget,Bellagio and The Venitian are expensive but very nice and romantic.Paris is a little less expensive and is also very nice. The Signature at MGM Grand?
The MGM Grand is different than Signature. I booked a room for November and from what I heard its INCREDIBLE. It has its own entrance not through MGM so the walk is only 3 minutes. Look at it on www.tripadvisor.com search signature MGM People love it and I hope I do too.

  • Which is better? MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?

Which one is better? Show me pics if you have em, tell me why it should be the one?Which is better? MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?
Mandalay Bay is a superior hotel in almost everyway.
Mandalay Bay is wonderful. Great casino. THE Mix lounge at the top (best view in Vegas). The Border Grill for mojitos. The Burger Bar. The Shark Reef. The Verandah for breakfast. Great place.

MGM is okay but HUGE. The pool is okay but not as fantastic as MGM. It just isn't as nice as Mandalay.Which is better? MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?
Both hotels are very good because these hotels have very good pool areas. Personally MGM Grand is my choice because it has the better location IMO. If you decide for one of these hotels check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - it has the latest promo codes available.
Mandalay has a topless pool as do some others but from these choices M-Bay has House of blues, public and private clubhouse, a rock'in night spot and It's high dollar. and all the good rock bands play there. truth is once your inside they all look alike.
Both are great. I prefer Mandalay Bay because of the pool. You can enjoy the casino at any hotel regardless where you sleep

Which Vegas show is better? Cirque du Soleil's "KA" at the MGM Grand, or "O" at the Bellagio?

I can't decide... We will be going on Saturday, April 21. Good tickets for "O" are sold out for the 7:30pm show, but tickets for the 10:30pm show are still available... However, there are still good tickets available for "KA" at the earlier show...

Is "O" worth waiting for the late show, or should I go ahead and get tickets for "KA"?Which Vegas show is better? Cirque du Soleil's "KA" at the MGM Grand, or "O" at the Bellagio?
Ka Is not as good as "O" by far.

I took my wife to Ka and she fell asleep twice. We had great seats. But the show was too long, and BORING.

The Theatre is wonderful, the stage is fantastic but the content of the show was weak.

The fact that tickets to "O" were difficult to get should tell you a great deal.

    I wish you the best
I personally liked Ka a lot better.Which Vegas show is better? Cirque du Soleil's "KA" at the MGM Grand, or "O" at the Bellagio?
Have you seen what type of stages they use for 'KA'?

Blew my mind... I have been want ing to see that performance for a while... Lucky!
I didn't see either yet, but Cirque's zoomanity performance was out-freekin-standing for me! It plays at the New York,New York and I just loved it! There really isn't a bad seat in that theatre either. Plus, had a fantastic "twist" at the end I think most people would enjoy. %26lt;Caution: This is the adult oriented show and not aloud for persons under the age of 18%26gt; It is very tasteful but does have a fair amount of nudity and sensual themes. (just about every theme infact:P) I suppose the moral of the show is to express yourself and release yourself from labels and to enjoy your life.

Really, it was a very entertaining and very artistic show for me and i highly recommend it. I don't think you can go wrong with any Cirque show though atm. They produce excellent shows regardless of what you choose.
I saw O about 6 years ago. Was alright. I think KA maybe better.

It is official guys,de la hoya and pacquiao will fight december 6th at the mgm grand, who will win?i say oscar?

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3555960It is official guys,de la hoya and pacquiao will fight december 6th at the mgm grand, who will win?i say oscar?
yea i just read this on maxboxing. i really didnt believe this fight could possibly be made. it will be a freak show .

i belive oscar will win. hes too big. if paquiao has to go to 147 i dont see him doing anyting to oscar. i doubt he will have the big power at that weight.

since this is oscars last fight, he really wants to win. i see oscars combo with the left hook finish will hurt manny. plus his long reach and jab will keep manny at bay. OSCAR KO8
Well you have to think that Oscar will show up on fight night weighing around 160 or so and Pacquiao will barley have made 147, Its going to look something like Cotto-Margarito.

Pacquiao hitting Oscar at will but just not being big enough to hurt Oscar enough.

I can see Pacquiao winning, but its gonna look like a mis match in terms of size.It is official guys,de la hoya and pacquiao will fight december 6th at the mgm grand, who will win?i say oscar?
I will definitely be pulling and praying that Manny Pacquiao can shock the world in this fight. I just believe Oscar is too big for Pacquiao. But I would love nothing more than to see Pacquiao prove me wrong.

Since Oscar wanted to hold firm on the purse percentage split, I am glad that Pacquiao was able to get want he wanted in terms of deciding the fighting weight and six gloves. I felt that's the least Oscar could do.
Its definitely Oscar who is going to win.

How can Pac Man even think that he is going to defeat Oscar?

Whatever the result, it is going to be a hell of a fight.
oscar will be too big and strong for pacquiao, just as hopkins was too strong for de la hoya.

it could go the distance, but pac man could get hurt.
Oscar by stoppage. He is way to big for manny. This fight is a mismatch. I hope im wrong.
i can't believe this is really happening....

but i'm PACMAN fan. i'm looking forward to this fight.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? THE FIGHT IS'NT GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF MONEY ISSUES
    Manny in 1st Round.
    i saw this on liverpuncher.com

i think oscar is making the right choice...go for the money!

    pac man is too fast.

    Ka theater mgm grand?

I'm going to vegas on my honeymoon this july, we're going to see circus soleil ka, is going to be ouf first time on vegas, and first time seeing this kind of show.

We are going to be seating in section 202-MM seats 8 and 9.

Do anyone know if in these seats are good viewing of the show. if far but as i can see in the middle.

the front seats were like 165 each.Ka theater mgm grand?
Those should be good seats. The show is such that it's better to be a little bit away from the stage because you can't see the whole stage when you're really close. KA is an incredibly good performance - you'll really enjoy it. I saw it last year and everyone I was with loved it. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and have fun in Vegas!Ka theater mgm grand?
I do not think you can have a bad seat at KA. There is alot going on in the show all around not just the stage, look up and around you. We have saw several shows in Vegas and KA is still our favorite. Have a good time and Congratulations

  • Wynn, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, or Luxor? best hotel?

2 21 year olds first trip to vegas, which would be the best for us to stay at in terms of fun for people our age? thanksWynn, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, or Luxor? best hotel?
Well the Wynn is certainly the best hotel from these options. Personally I think it's the best hotel in Vegas period! I've stayed in almost all of the hotels on the strip. The Luxor is fun too. MGM is nice but I always feel like there is an older crowd there. I'm not too familiar with Planet Hollywood yet. I really like the Wynn...it's top of the line and the clubs they have are fun.
I'm going to go off your list, hopefully you've got some flexibility.

The Palms is great for 21 year olds and so is Mandalay Bay.

If you are bound by your choices above, MGM is considered a much better hotel than the Luxor (the Luxor is the mid level hotel in the Mandalay Bay series, Excalibur being the poor mans hotel).

Planet Hollywood is all hype. The place is dead more often than it is busy.Wynn, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, or Luxor? best hotel?
Putting them in order from best to not as much for your age range (but it's all based on the amenities and the qualities that you're looking for too)

    1) Planet Hollywood. It's got an upscale, hip hollywood feel, and attached to it is a pretty good sized mall called the Miracle Mile. The buffet is good and VERY filling, some fun shows to be seen at this hotel as well like Stomp out loud, "V", Steve Wyrick: Real Magic, etc.

    2) Luxor. It's in the midst of undergoing some style changes.. there isn't much in the way of Egypt happening in this hotel anymore, it's like they're trying to go along the same lines as Planet Hollywood. The pyramid rooms are just cool, too. :) The cafe here is good, the buffet is just ok but it may have been revamped recently, so I'm not sure on that. Several shows to be seen here too.. Fantasy, Carrot Top, and Criss Angel's "Believe" (I don't recommend it.. poor reviews from all of the guests I've ever booked for the show and I was ready to leave halfway through when we saw it a couple of weeks ago. It is NOT a magic show...) One of the best things about this hotel is that it is directly connected to the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur by enclosed walkway AND a tram (mini-monorail style).

    3) MGM Grand - I'm basing this in third over Wynn mainly on location of the strip (4 corners is what I call it, it's a hot area) and amenities. The prices for food at this hotel are high no matter how you look at it.. most of it is overpriced for what you get, as well (in comparison to other hotels). There is a lot to do and see here.. one of the Cirque du Soleil shows "KA" is here; AMAZING show though it hits the pocketbook a little hard. Be prepared for $130 to $180 per ticket.

    4) Wynn. Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite resort in the city.. just gorgeous. Very upscale. Some nice ultra lounges and hip clubs to hit up... and is just across the street from Fashion Show Mall, Treasure Island and the Venetian/Palazzo. Expect anywhere between $199 and $399 a night for their resort rooms, which are very much worth what you get (The room's amenities make you feel like royalty.. the bed is heavenly, too!). This resort requires a $200 per day deposit when you check in, which some guests are not prepared for. So just a heads up. The best buffet in town is located here (in my opinion)... it's worth going for the desserts alone. Amazing!
If you are looking to party look at MGM or Planet Hollywood, Mgm has studio 54 and PH has Prive and The Playing field, all good for your age group, these places have in the past charged a cover, although depending on the day and with the economy the way it is they can be discounted or you maybe able to get free tickets from the hotel.

Check out www.vegas.com for other clubs that maybe appealing to you.

    Have fun and good luck!
Well the Palms is probably one of the best if not the best for 21 year olds but thats like a mile or so from the Strip soooo out of those I suggest Planet Hollywood...

We're about the same age and stayed there this Summer an I really liked it a lot! There was a lot of places to drink, eat, and shop
I'd stay at Planet Hollywood if I were you. Location, location, location and more affordable than Wynn. Very close to all the happening spots for your age. I think Luxor is too far south to even bother with. MGM Grand is at the south end of the strip also, but not as far as the Luxor.
All are pretty close to one another so all will be "fun", its just a matter of price... Wynn is the most expensive then you have PH, MGM and Luxor.

Try finding special offers from http://www.smartervegas.com

use their codes to book direct from the hotels.
MGM Grand or Planet Hollywood will be the best for 21 yr olds.

    what about it????

I'm taking a girl to the MGM Grand in Detroit for a night on Monday. What's close by to do? she likes 2 party?

She enjoys the bar scene, as do I. Looking for the 'happening' spots close by to the MGM where we can drive or preferrably get a cab....and somewhere safe (lol...oxymoron in detroit eh?). she would probably even go to a strip club. she's not s huge gambler so i dont want to bore her too much before we get back to the room for the real fun.....

ideas?I'm taking a girl to the MGM Grand in Detroit for a night on Monday. What's close by to do? she likes 2 party?
SAFE = Windsor, across the bridge, still necessary to be prudent late at night.

GREEKTOWN is a distant second choice for safety after 10 PM.

Best to stay inside MGM and use the facilities there, and the garage until you leave.

Somewhat like two of the other answers, the first one, and the last before me, so now you have three with the same extremely prudent advice.

Doesn't matter who you are or what ethnicity, friend. Two on a night out are a MARK, especially if they have a nice car and more than $30....

Depends on what kind of a 'happening' you seek.
MGM itself has lots to do inside. There are several bars, restaurants and clubs there that you could check out. I don't know of anything in the immediate vicinity. Try Greektown if you are looking for places to walk to you party at.I'm taking a girl to the MGM Grand in Detroit for a night on Monday. What's close by to do? she likes 2 party?
Yes, I would say go to Greektown as well. The area surrounding the casino is full of fantastic bars and resturants as well as some shopping. And if anything, Go over to Windsor. There are a coupld of dance clubs not far from Casino Windsor.
MGM is the best casino in Detroit, but other than MGM, theres nothing else to do around there, so if you are looking for more than just a gambling experience, go to Greektown, its the best bet,and its also safer, at least I feel.
Tiki Bob's, Clutch Cargo, Tonic Nightclub.

    All fun places.

Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms? If so, are they any good? More importantly, where exactly in the hotel are they? I can't see them on their map. I read some reviews of rooms in the West Wing etc. of this hotel and people were complaining of a 10-15 walk to get out of the hotel. I have stayed in these suites some are a long walk from the lifts some are not, when I was there last and I asked for one on a high floor but I was told that most of the suites were on the lower floors but this may have been just to shut me up. I dont think that there are any on the west wing though.

Word of warning though just because you book a King Bungalow suite it does not mean that is what you will get it will depend whats available on check in. We booked a Hollywood suite for our honey moon and it was not availabke so we go a given a spa suite instead, my parents had booked a queen bungalow and got a king, other frineds booked a King non smoking room got Queen smoking.

    Some great MGM rates here

Honestly, most places you stay in Vegas require a walk just to get out of the hotel. When visiting Vegas, walking is just something you are going to have to do no matter what, but it's easy to enjoy it because there is so much to look at. A fifteen minute walk is nothing, and you won't even realize it has been that long! You have made a good choice on your room selection, and you will absolutely love everything about your trip. Have fun.Bungalow King Suite, MGM Grand Las Vegas?
The MGM is huge, the size of two football fields with the rooms in wings above the casino. The suites are at the top of the casino.

So you have to walk, but worth the beautiful views.

Should I stay at the Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand?

So im going to vegas for my 21st bday and I have narrowed it down to these two hotels because they have the same exact rate going right now, but I cant decide between these two!

Here are a few facts to help you help me :)

Were a group of 5 girls mostly first timers and one second timer.

In going from december 19th-21st so I dont care about pools, however I plan on visiting the spa at which ever hotel.

We want be around mostly young people and we love hot clubs and trendy lounges. So any advice on these hotspots will be appreciated as well!

I was thinking Mandalay bay bc the rooms are nicer ( and the xtra bathroom space will help when everyone is getting ready to go out!) But also debating the MGM because of its location...

    Any advice would really help!!!

ThanksShould I stay at the Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand?
I would definitely choose Mandalay Bay. It is such a beautiful hotel with nice rooms. I've always wanted to stay there but have not wanted to pay over $100/night when I can stay right by it for $50/night. It's hard to believe that Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand have the same rates.

You should definitely check out this site http://smartervegas.com/ for the best las vegas hotel rates. Currently Mandalay Bay is offering a special for your dates, Buy 2 get one night free. So if you could stay one more night, it would be free. The rates are $130 Friday, $130 Saturday, and $110 Sunday night. It gives you the entire amount of $403.27 on the booking screen, of which a deposit of $141.69 is due at booking. Then it says "Lowest room rate will be deducted at check-out." So you would technically get your stay for less than $300 for 3 nights. https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/booki鈥?/a> Since that is the only special they are running for December right now (they will add some soon), your 2-night stay on their standard rates would be $283.38 with a deposit of $141.69.

MGM Grand is literally across the street from Excalibur which is connected to Mandalay Bay and Luxor by a mall or by a free tram. So location really shouldn't be an issue in your decision. The current specials for MGM Grand are a little less than Mandalay Bay. For your 2-night stay (Fri-Sun), the total cost is $226 with a deposit of $107.91. If you were to stay 3 nights, the total cost would be $301.93 which is about the same as Mandalay Bay for the same nights. https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/booki鈥?/a>

    I hope this helps!

MGM and Mandalay Bay both are great resorts teh sap at mandalay bay is nicer than mgm but they are both good, the bathrooms are much better at mandalay bay but you are right the location is better than Mandalay. The bars are both very good and the clubs at Luxor between Mandalay and MGM are very good now. You can get a free suite upgrade at Mandalay at the minute http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008鈥?/a>

or you could get free nights tat either http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008鈥?/a>Should I stay at the Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand?
I would go with MGM, you can even upgrade to a suite for only $20 with some of their offers. Mandalay Bay is also a great hotel but I think MGM has currently better offers and also it wins because of locations and also it has a monorail station inside the hotel which is great.

Here are all the latest deals: http://www.smartervegas.com

You book direct from the official hotel websites so with most deals you can cancel or adjust the price if a better deal comes along so keep checking ;)
I stayed at Mandalay Bay this past December, and it was a fantastic hotel! The rooms were great for the price, and very wide open with flat screen plasma TV and a huge bathroom. The casino is good in there as well, and it is easy to catch the Tram down to Luxor or Excalibur, then jump right onto the strip.
I had a friend just stay in Mandalay bay, and she said her room was AMAZING... just like that. I want to stay there because it is SO nice, from the pictures i saw and her. But, if you want young people and clubs, MGM Grand is the place because of its location by Excalibur, new york new york.

I would recommend more MGM Grand ... that's just me.
Both hotels are fine so you cannot go wrong. Personally I would stay at MGM, but this is just my opinion. Before you book check the current hotel promotion codes on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - this can save a lot of money.
Mandalay Bay hands down...the best hotel in vegas!!
i stayed at mandalay suite for week its super nice
Ok I know Vegas. I'm only 16, but I've been there a few times and no the strip fairly good. You do not want to stay at the MGM that place is too big! The Mandalay Bay is a lot nicer its a 5 star resort sure your not as close to the action, but you guys are young girls you guys can walk the strip, or take a cab. I think you would have more fun at the Mandalay Bay. If I were you I would also consider TI or Mirage are also good. Just plz don't stay at MGM that place is massive and the rooms are older and its only 3 or 4 stars while Mandalay Bay is 5. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

MGM Grand or Monte Carlo ?

There is no comparison. MGM Grand is far better and the rooms are nicer. Both hotels however have great discounts.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>MGM Grand or Monte Carlo ?
Totally the Monte Carlo. The Italian/Spanish/Mexican flare mixed with the Modern amenities is to-die-for. Not to mention that the Monte Carlo has its share of western influences, i.e. the BRAND Stakehouse. In addition to the stakehouse, the Monte Carlo offers Mexican and Italian styled eateries. The main question to ask yourself when choosing is whether or not you want the modern-leaning-Italian/Spanish/Mexican styled rooms and amenities or the Purely American Styled MGM Grand. The MGM Grand is as its name suggests: Grand. But the cultural diversity lies with the Monte Carlo. I suggest the Monte Carlo, but what really counts is your personal taste.
Personal taste and requirements would be the deciding factor. If you are going now or soon and want to use the pool, the MGM Grand has one that is open all year, the Monte Carlo does not. Location wise, they are pretty close to equal. Size wise, the MGM is massive the Monte Carlo is more intimate. If you stick to your hotel mostly, the MGM is a good choice. If you like to come and go a lot, the Monte Carlo is a better choice. This is because the MGM is so big that even the walk from the front desk to your room will take upwards to 15 minutes. It gets pretty tiresome after a while.

This is a common trade-off. If you select a mega hotel with everything under one roof, such as the MGM or Caesars, it is great if you stick to your hotel. But even to walk to the hotel next door is a chore. If you chose a more intimate sized hotel, you won't have everything the mega hotels have.

People like me, who basically only sleep in their hotel room are better served with places like Monte Carlo. People who spend a lot of time in or near their hotel room are better served with places like MGM.

*MGM Grand or Monte Carlo ?
MGM Grand would be the better choice. MGM does not charge a resort fee but Monte Carlo does. You will have to pay an extra $9.50 plus tax for every night you stay there. This you will have to pay when you get here. Boycott hotels that have those resort fees. Force them to put them in their actual quoted rates.
MGM for me due to the better pool and the wet republic pool which is like heaven for guys, all kinds of beautiful ladies there, plus they have the lazy river pool, inner tubes cost $16 a day.. Hotel is huge, restaurants are better at MGM then MC.. MC walls are to thin, you can hear people next door talking sometimes..
comparing apples and oranges---- have money MGM /no money Monte Carlo. If you have money try Venetian/Palazoo or Ceasars, Bellagio, b/4 MGM. Most people get lost at MGM first time there-----too big.
Hands up for MGM Grand but generally both hotels are fine. Check the current room specials for both hotels on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - then I would make the decision with the room price.

Stay at MGM Grand or Circus Circus? And why you pick that one. I can't choose!?

I can tell you have never been here before. It isn't even close, MGM Grand for sure. Like comparing a shiny delicious apple to a raisin. Circus Circus is an older property and it shows. Rooms are small and has lots of kids running around. The location is not good since they have torn down most of the older properties around them to make room for new modern mega resorts that have all been put on hold. Not an easy walk to the main part of the strip especially in hot weather. MGM is a classic. One of the largest hotels in the world and yet has maintained the quality. The rooms are much nicer and larger. It is located on the busiest intersection with a major property on each corner. Choose MGM Grand, you won't be disappointed.Stay at MGM Grand or Circus Circus? And why you pick that one. I can't choose!?
As you can see from this map:

    http://www.lasvegasmaps.com/stripmap.htm鈥?/a>

Circus Circus is near the far end of the strip, not really a walkable distance to many of the better casinos (unless you really like to hike). It was originally built to cater to the family crowd, and has more children than other casinos on the Strip. It's an older property, not quite as well-maintained as many of the newer properties. It is also one of the cheapest hotels on the Strip.

MGM Grand is fairly well located, very well maintained, adult oriented, and to be honest, a bit more expensive (but still pretty reasonable I think).

Unless you are down to your last few dollars and are dragging along a bunch of tots that need entertaining, there is really no choice.
I personally would choose the MGM Grand. I like to stay at nice hotels.

If you are going with kids Circus Circus is probably the best bet because it's family friendly and it's super cheap.

If you are going with a group of friends or as a couple MGM is the better hotel.

I've stayed at both hotels and really there is no comparison. MGM is one of the better hotels out there.Stay at MGM Grand or Circus Circus? And why you pick that one. I can't choose!?
Depends on how cheap you want to go? MGM is really huge and is on the south side of the strip. Circus is old and on the North side but is smaller and cheaper. Personally, I like the Stratosphere best cheap, not so huge and can catch the Deuce bus right outside of the Strat to go North (downtown) or South busier end of the strip. Win better North side (except I just won $2,250 at Paris Hotel 1 1/2 weeks ago when I was last there. Just stay the heck away from the Riveria Hotel for accomodations. That place sucks! Never again.
MGM is right next to multiple casinos while Circus is only across the street from Rivera. MGM is huge. I found Circus rooms average.
Run and do not look back from Circus Circus....MGM is the best choice. But MGM Grand has a $200. resort fee that you will get back at the end of your stay.
MGM Grand has FAR more things to do and see. Circus Circus has gone way downhill.

You call it "Robin Williams hat". It belongs to Robin Williams. Send it back to him. It doesn't belong to you.
If you have tried to contact anyone representing Williams and have not heard from them by now, then technically the hat is yours.

But would you really want to sell it? That kind of souvenir is definitely a lot better than an autograph.

How to get from Edison NJ to MGM Grand at Foxwoods, CT?

    Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to take a train (or ten by the looks of it!) from edison nj to the MGM which is in 'Mashentucket' CT as far as I know..

I need to get from there to there next sat morning and do a return journey the next day early afternoon (do trains even run on sundays?) btw if possible we'd like the easiest and cheapest option! :oD

Can anyone please help me find out this info!! ? I would appreciate it so much! xxxHow to get from Edison NJ to MGM Grand at Foxwoods, CT?

Check this out, apparently Academy Bus Service will take you there from The Cheesequake rest area on the Garden State Pkwy, that's in Sayreville, just below the Driscoll Bridge. How to get from Edison NJ to MGM Grand at Foxwoods, CT?
There are no trains that go directly to the casino. You'd need to take a train from NJ to Grand Central in NYC. From there, take a Metro North train to New Haven. From there, take a Shoreline East train. That will get you to the general area.

Which is a better Casino? MGM Grand ot the Venetian?

I have stayed in MGM many times, it is down town and near to shopping and other casino hotels.

Venetian is about 25 mins by taxi to town area but good for luxury goods shopping and perhaps you would like to take a ride in the gondola.

Another Casino Hotel, which is quite good and it's just 10 meters away from MGM - The Wynn Casino Hotel, where the musical mountain is a "must see" especially at night.Which is a better Casino? MGM Grand ot the Venetian?

    MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?

Which would be better to stay at for 4 nights?MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?
I have not stayed at the MGM but here are my pros and cons for each.

    MGM

Pros: A LOT of things in the casino, cus it's HUGE, so many restaurants, lotta shops, nice pool, KA is there. They also have the lions, it has a decent strip location a little south though, but the monorail does stop there. cheaper price

Cons: Because it's so large it's extremely packed, my friends who have stayed there say the rooms are a bit dated.

    Mirage:

Pros: Not nearly as packed as MGM, one of the best pools in Vegas (up there with Bellagio and Mandalay Bay, if not better than Bellagio). Nice casino size, and theme. Rooms all newly remodeled (and very nice when i stayed there last Nov). The strip location is one of the best most central locations you can get. Price is on par or only a bit more than MGM if that

Cons: Does not have the amount of shopping/restaurants MGM does or KA, does not have monorail stop.

All in all..I would pick Mirage the pros far out weigh it's cons IMO. You can't go wrong either way, but I'd pick Mirage. don't forget to tip the front desk $20 or maybe even $40 (since you're staying longer than most ppl) when you check in so you can hopefully get a nice upgrade. (At least a strip view).

Have fun. 2009 may be the first year I will not go to Vegas...but I'm going to WDW a different playground lol.

    ~G

p.s. the Cravings Buffet @ Mirage is my new favorite buffet on the strip, better than MGM, Spice MArket (planet hollywood), and even Bellagios.
I stayed at the Mirage for a week back in October and loved every minute of it. It's in a great central location (better location than MGM), it had a great selection of restaurants and buffets, the atmosphere was really cool, the pool was fabulous and the newly renovated rooms are very contemporary and very big. I had great service and even good luck in the casino there! I would definitely choose to stay at the Mirage again.

I don't know much about MGM Grand other than that location doesn't do it for me. I prefer more central strip, as I don't spend much time in that area. I do like the free lion habitat but the Mirage offers Sigfried %26amp; Roy's Secret Garden for a small cost which tops the lion habitat. I do remember MGM Grand having a pretty good pool as well.

I believe they are owned by the same company so I bet you will see a lot of similarities in terms of service, decor, etc. I think the Mirage rooms might be newer and nicer too. Go to www.tripadvisor.com and check out travelers' reviews and photos. It always helps me to decide.MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?
Mirage is a bit crowded. MGM is nice and spread out. The pool area at the Mirage is always packed. The MGM has several pools to choose from. I would go with the MGM as it should also be cheaper.
The mirage was remodeled last year. However people still don't think it's that great, even though it is one of the supposedly upscale properties.
Both hotels are great but I prefer MGM Grand because of the great pool scene. Before you go check the current hotel promotions on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for these and other hotels as well. This can save a lot of money.
    DEF the Mirage!!!!! no comparison!

i stayed at the MGM Grand and really didnt like it. I wish i stayed more in the location of the Mirage!
Never stayed at the Mirage but we did stay at MGM and liked it. It has nice rooms and good restaurants. I think they have the best show in Vegas called KA.
If you have a lot of money stay at the Sky Lofts at MGM , they are high class. But I don't really like either, Stay at the Wynn or Encore (Wynn)
The Mirage, because it has a better location.
MGM Grand, huge casino next to great other casinos
I would go with the Mirage casino..
MGM has Tabu. On the weekends, it's poppin hella hard. Tons of females.
i live in las vegas and i like the MGM =o i like it cuz its green
mgm is nicer of the 2.

you may get better deal at mirage though.
Either is okay, just take the best deal.

Do you like "The Signature at MGM Grand" suite???

    http://www.mgmgrand.com/accommodations/t鈥?/a>

check it out and let me know what you think of it

or let me know if you like it or you like another suite

in this question anyone could be best answer so respond wellDo you like "The Signature at MGM Grand" suite???
I have stayed there and it was nice no doubt.

I think that it is a good price for the money but the key word is "from". Generally much much higher on the weekends than Sunday through Thursday. Check the specific dates you want, then compare the others. Rack rates, or the published rates are sometimes not reflective of available rates based on exact dates.

I really do prefer other suites in other hotels though. Even the lovely Venetian has all suites and their basic suite is very nice and far less expensive.

The truly unbelievable suites that can be found at hotels like the Rio are not even for the public use. Some of them are as large as 10,000 square feet and only given to truly high rollers. After all, that is who generally is staying in suites.

The Bellagio has some magnificent suites and I have stayed in a few. Also Villas that defy description. Check out the Bellagio Suites.

    http://www.bellagio.com/pages/frameset_f鈥?/a>

Even the Palms Hotel, off strip has some suites that are absolutely breathtaking.

Finally the Four Seasons Las Vegas which is high atop the Mandalay Bay is world's apart from ANY of the hotels I have mentioned. I have a link here for one of their suites that I have stayed in that has a 180 degree view of Vegas. Amazing, just amazing and the room is over 2,000 sq feet! Check out the view and the amenities. The service is just impeccable, something that The MGM is not, as that is the largest hotel in the world. Even the Signature at the MGM does not equal the Four Seasons, traditionally and consistently ranked as a five star property in every location they maintain. They just know how to treat you like you are the most important person they have ever had stay at their hotel. That's personalized attention at it's very best.

    http://www.fourseasons.com/lasvegas/gues鈥?/a>

Before you settle for the MGM Grand, you MUST check out the alternatives. Even Caesar's has some suites that you would remember from movies. Remember "Rainman"? You can rent that suite and it is two levels.

So compare compare compare before you go. Check the availability of all of them for the dates that you wish. When you step up to that level of accommodations, you truly need to compare suitable and alternatives.

No matter which you end up with......have a "SUITE" or "SWEET" time in Vegas! Good luck!Do you like "The Signature at MGM Grand" suite???
    yes, looks very smart

    MGM Grand in Las Vegas?

Just looking for some opinions on the place? How was your stay, what were the table minimums like? Etc.MGM Grand in Las Vegas?
This is my favorite hotel in Vegas. I stay there every time I go. Stayed some where else once, it was a disappointment. MGM has amazing guest service, the rooms are nice, its in a good location, has good entertainment, Wolfgang Pucks restaurant is great, they have real live lions. Table minimums are basically the same wherever you go. They have shopping below the lobby.
I went there a few years ago. The place is HUGE........ You WILL get lost, but its not too difficult to figure out where you want to be.

The tables were as anywhere else. Pick your table to stake however much you want.

You'll enjoy it, but some other places are cheaper and as clean and friendly.MGM Grand in Las Vegas?
MGM is fantatic. During the day and weekdays you might find a $5 minimum, one table in a row of many. The standard is $10 and up.

Well, there are the lions out between 10 AM and 7-ish.

The shops aren't all that great, but there is a small arcade downstairs. The entrance is down the StudioWalk, close to Diego's restaurant.

The pool area is nice too. There are 4 pools available for under-18 as well as a Lazy River. You can rent inner tubes right past the gates.

Other close by attractions include the roller coaster across the street at NYNY, and another arcade at Excalibur.
not to much reallly stores and shops .. you could visit the lions always nice to see even better if they have the cubs outMGM Grand in Las Vegas?

MGM Grand or Caesars Palace? Which one should I choose?

Caesars mid stripMGM Grand or Caesars Palace? Which one should I choose?
I'd go for Caesars Palace every time. The MGM is a bit bland and uninteresting to tell you the truth while CP is a true legend of the strip. CP is also in a better location being closer to the centre of the strip and therefore easy to walk to places like Bellagio and Paris. The MGM has it's own monorail station but it is such a large property that you will soon be fed up with the lengthy walk all the way to the back of the hotel to get it.
Caesars Palace definitely out of those two. Caesars is a nicer hotel and has access to a huge underground area with shops and restaurants. Its also closer to other casinos that you will want to visit.

Personally, my favorite is the Venetian or PalazzoMGM Grand or Caesars Palace? Which one should I choose?
Although Caesars Palace is in a better location, the MGM Grand offers way more entertainment. If you are looking to see a show, concert or fight while you are in Vegas then the MGM Grand is by far a better choice. It really comes down to your particular preference.
Once behind the facade all the hotels are very similar. My advice would be to stay off the strip in one of the chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express or Marriott Courtyard. It will be cheaper and you can drive onto the strip and park at any of the hotels for free and see exactly the same as staying at one of the hotels you mention. The churn of guests is huge in these hotels and check in lines can sometimes stretch for up to an hour they are so busy.
Caesars Palace for sure! It's an amazing hotel, very high-class, and one of my favorite places to stay. And it has one of the best locations on the strip, right in the middle of everything. There is a ton to see and do nearby, and most of the rest of the strip is an easy walk away.
It depends. Caesars has the better location but generally I would choose MGM Grand because of their very good pool area. MGM has also the better room promotions. Before you book I recommend to check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for the latest promo codes.
Both are exceptional but I would pick MGM. It is easy walk/access to Tropicana, NYNY, Monte Carlo, Luxor (pyramid), Excalibur (castle) and Mandalay Bay. However, pick the one with the best room rate since you don't spend that much time in your room
Venetian is the best: gorgeous casino, a shopping with a canal running down the middle including gondolas that you can ride and a wide range of restaurants that are reasonably priced.

Great Hotel - I prefer the grand hotel rooms. They have a classic feel and are much larger then the newer west wing rooms.

The location is great especially with the monorail stopping at the hotel and the tram just a block away.

Nobody can honestly say anything bad about this hotel as a whole. It has much to offer and is very clean and modern.

    P.S. There pool is HUGE!!!!
I have stayed there 3 times in the last 7 months I have stayed in Spa Suite, Hollywood Suite and Grand Tower room. The rooms are great though avoid the West Wing rooms they look pretty cool but are dark and small and have no door on the toilet -( The beds are the most comfatble that I have ever slept in. Great public areas, good choice of bars great pool you will love it

I was there two years ago and stayed in a room that cost $135 a night. It was big and other than that pretty much like any other big hotels room. If your staying in any of the premier hotels in vegas the rooms are going to be of a good standard. For me when i go again I will stay in a hotel in the middle of the strip, the mgm was well placed but im going more central next time.
I actually just moved out to Vegas for an internship with a vegas hotel group. We just look a tour of the MGM GRAND and it is amazing. There is so much to do inside the hotel and the rooms are great. They are having some great summer specials that you should check out. Most people use the Deuce (Bus) to get around the Vegas strip and also to Fremont Street. The buses are wheel chair accessible and I will recommend getting a day pass for $7

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cat.php

There are lots to do in Vegas. Here is a list of attractions up and down the strip, including free attractions.

    http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/things-to鈥?/a>
The monorail runs from behind the MGM and is pretty cheep, you can check their web site and see if they are offering any pre purchase discounts. They will drop you off near the Treasure Island. As for dining there are several top of the line restaurants in the MGM including the Rain Forest Cafe but right across the strip is the New York New York and they have a pretty good food court area with a variety from burgers to Chinese. And if you are looking for cheep there is a food court with fast food selections just north of the MGM.

And go across to the NYNY and ride the Manhattan express, it's a fun roller coaster.Staying at MGM Grand, Seeing Elton John, David Copperfield and josting dinner show. Gambling. Where 2 eat, etc?
There are a "zillion" things to do in Las Vegas. Watch the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, taking a gondola ride at The Venetian, going up the Eiffel Tower at the Paris, riding the roller coaster at the NewYork-New York and eating something at the Wynn.

There are many things to see also out of the strip. Visiting outlet malls, having a once in a lifetime experience at the Stratosphere and even having a trip on The Enterprise in Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. A must see show is the Jubilee. This show is first shown in Las Vegas and sometimes they take it to Paris, France.

You can walk up and down the strip, it is always crowded and it is very safe. You must use the electric stairs and cross where you are supposed to. There are many places to eat or just have a drink like the Mandalay Bay and out the strip at the Rio where they have a Carnival hanging from the sky. Even the Ceasar's Palace shopping mall is a must see. You can check on a site called VEGAS.COM and you will find many more. (M%26amp;M's store, etc.) Freemont street is also a must see. That is the street where they have a lights show on the ceiling that is covering all the street. If you are visiting soon try to get to Mt. Charles, a mountain one half hour from the city. You can ski or snowboard there up to the end of March. (sometimes even on April)

Also the Red Rock Canyon is a wonderful place to visit. You will have so many things to see that you better plan your days (and nights) so you can visit as many places as posible. ENJOY!
If you like buffets the best for breakfast is la Village Buffet at Paris. The best for Dinner is Bellagio. The best value is the Spice Market Buffet in Planet Hollywood.

The Bus line called the deuce is wheelchair accessible. But allow plenty of time. It traffic on the Strip can be a bear. The pirate show in front of Treasure Island has been changed from what it was to a rather ridiculous "sexy" pirate show called Sirens of TI. It is really corny with lines like, "Ahoy, there!" "Who you calling a Hoy?" I kid you not. The girls and bare chested young guys are supposed to be sexy but they are pretty much just silly. The special effects are great, still.

Right next door is the Mirage. The volcano in front has just reopened after renovation and improvement. It is pretty cool. There is a free tram that runs from TI to the Mirage and back.

The Monorail runs behind the hotels on the East Side of the Strip and unfortunately that still leaves a whole lot of walking. You may consider that before deciding to go that route. For you in a chair, the Deuce is the cheapest and a taxi the most convenient.

Fremont Street is not near the Strip. Again the Bus goes there. Unless you are staying at least 5 days, you will get more for your vacation time sticking with the Strip Hotels. The size and scope of the Strip can fool you. These hotels are massive. One could easily walk for miles inside the MGM Grand alone. Just walking from the lobby to your room can take upwards of 10 minutes or more. So, if you have an electric chair make sure you have good batteries. If you have someone pushing you, make sure they have lots of stamina.

Of course you could rent a car which would give you the most mobility. I always rent a car. My vacation time is valuable to me. I hate to waste it. So I have learned the back roads and use a rental car. I can cover the whole strip pretty easily and even go to the outlying hotels like the Rio. Which is a hoot! On the weekends they have a Masquerade Show in the Sky over the Casino floor. You can watch from there or take the elevator up to the second floor balcony level (where the shops are) and watch from there. Every hour on the Hour a wall opens up and giant floats come out suspended from the ceiling filled with dancers throwing beaded necklaces at you. Great souvenirs! It is a bit loud but a lot of high energy fun.

    *
No the pirate show at Treasure Island is more than a mile away next to Mirage, where you need to see the volcano. It is not an easy "walk" due to the size of the sidewalks and jerks who think they own the space.

Make sure you have at least one buffet; MGM has a great one but so does Excalibur.

You cannot "walk" to Fremont Street. The Strip from Mandalay Bay to Sahara is four miles one way. Fremont is more like ten. But cabs and buses are w/c friendly.

    Have fun in my city
We saw Elton John "Red Piano Tour" at Caesar's - it was great! Our advice is to eat before the show because many restaurants in Vegas close at 10pm (Vegas may be an all-night town...but not the restaurants!)

We at at Nero's Steakhouse in Caesar's Palace before the show. Pricey but worth it.
Treasure Island is not that close to the MGM. It would be a long walk but you could do it. If you were to walk it you could catch the fountains at the Bellagio and the Mirage Volcano, then take a cab back.
It's a long walk but easily doable.

Is $7,500 a fair price for two second row seats to see AC/DC at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas ?

I was offered two second row tickets to next months AC/DC show for $7,500

is this a fair price ?

row bbIs $7,500 a fair price for two second row seats to see AC/DC at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas ?
whoa! that's almost my tuition fee for a whole year! i'm also a big fan of ac/dc but if ever i have the money, i might consider getting myself at least a 5th or 6th row(if its way cheaper) ticket. for me its still an awesome feeling to know that you're just few meters away from brian johnson and the rest of the guys. i think its not also worth the money because you're not really at the first row anyway.
Wow that's a lot of money for 2 tickets. You could be a pretty nice used car with that lol. Maybe you should shop around a little first before buying them.Is $7,500 a fair price for two second row seats to see AC/DC at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas ?
    Oh yeah that's so reasonable...
**** no. Are you on crack? I wouldn't pay that much to see Elvis on the back from the Dead tour!
I wouldn't pay that much to see the second coming of Jesus Christ. No band is worth that much!
depends on how bad you want to see them.
I would only pay that amount to see them perform live in MY house!
You are pulling my leg surely? No way in hell
    wow, no.

    MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?

I have a Celebrity Spa Suite booked for my Anniversary but just found a promotion for a 750 suite at Mandalay Bay for a few dollars less. Can anyone tell me which is better?MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?
Mandalay has better clubs, better pool, places to eat, entertainment, etc.

MGM is too...Grand in my opinion. You get lost in the place.
MGM is in a better location - it's at the last stop on the Monorail, which you can ride to other resorts on the strip. Also, it's very close to Tropicana, New York, New York, Excalibur and the Monte Carlo.

Mandalay Bay is nice but it's at the very far southern end of the strip.MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay?
I think the Celebrity Spa rooms are just big rooms nothing fancy. I would go with Mandalay Bay I think the suites are nicer and I like the pool better, but its just my opinion. Try http://www.smartervegas.com to compare offers maybe you'll find something even better.

    MGM Grand or Caesers Palace?

So my friend and I are both 21 and we havent been away together in ages and I wasnt away this summer and we are looking to splash out and want las vegas..

from what i have found i cant decide between the MGM or Caesers .. I know Caesers is more expensive but why ?? is it just because of location ... they both seem equally great but caesers is more expensive and I am wondering is it worth splashing out that extra bit for it ...

I have looked into planet hollywood and i do love a modern hotel but for Las vegas i want extravegent... and I fell that the Mgm and Caesers will give me that more so than planet hollywood , am I right ??

tough decision !MGM Grand or Caesers Palace?
CP is the ultimate place to have an enjoyable vacation.

MGM Is also good, but just a hair under CP.
Well it goes like this! If you want the same age crowd around you at the pools which MGM grand has wet republic which has the 21-30 crowd then i would say MGM for you guys. Caesars us more luxury and expensive and caters more to the 30 and above crowd. You're not going to find a wild and crazy pool crowd at caesars like you would at MGM grand. Planet Hollywood also has that young crowd feel and the location for all 3 hotels are great! Caesars is always more expensive because of the clients they bring in! But to tell you the truth, i would be deciding between MGM or Planet Hollywood. My pick would be PH. It just seems like they have a awesome crowd in the casino comes late night.MGM Grand or Caesers Palace?
Caesars Palace is the ultimate Vegas Hotel experience. Their pool area has been rated number 1 in Vegas. So if you want to lay out by the pool then for sure spend the extra bucks and pick Caesars. Make sure when you compare hotel prices you figure in the "resort fees" that many of the hotels charge extra here. You will be surprised how the prices rise when you add in those ridiculous fees.
Extravagance ...... you missed the brand new Cosmopolitan or next door Aria. And what about Wynn or Encore OR Venetian or Palazzo. But between MGM and Caesars I would say take the one with the best room deal. You can visit any casino, show, restaurant, etc., regardless which hotel you pick. And the MGM is by Tropicana, NYNY, Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur, and Mandalay Bay

What is the nearest liquor store to the MGM Hotel in Vegas?

I need to buy champagne for a wedding in Vegas but I do not want to pay top dollar. Can anyone tell me the nearest store/liquor store to the MGM Grand? and how much a good bottle of champagne would be? Vivie Cliquot (wrong spelling I'm sure)or Moet? It is $40 a bottle here in a Dallas location.

ThanksWhat is the nearest liquor store to the MGM Hotel in Vegas?
There are no "liquor stores" on Las Vegas blvd...for obvious reasons (competing against casino sales!).

There are a number of places that sell liquor...including the Walgreens immediately out the front door of MGM (just to the right and past M%26amp;M world). There is also a CVS across the 'busy street' of LV Blvd...and outside of Valet (behind the self-parking garage...is a convenient store.

Beyond that...you either have a fairly long walk or a fairly expensive cab ride to buy it after you get here.

MY SUGGESTION: Buy it ahead of time and bring it packed in your 'checked baggage' (well packed/padded).

Otherwise...I can have one of my 'mobile couriers' deliver a bottle or two to you (proof of being over 21 required) of course..for a fee.
There is a CVS located across the street right next to Monte Carlo.

If you want less expensive items there is a Food$Less about 2 miles down LV Blvd past Mandalay Bay.What is the nearest liquor store to the MGM Hotel in Vegas?
The ABC Store on the right side of the MGM near the Coke Store and the M%26amp;M Store
There is a liquor store on the side street by Ballys

    Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?

I have priced up for myself and wife to travel over to Las Vagas either on the 12th Nov to 16th Nov or 19th to 23rd Nov (Thanksgiving). We would like to stay at either the MGM or Caesars Palace but it depends on the price. At the moment if we came over on 12th and left 16th we could stay in the MGM for 2382 dollars compared with the Palace at 3137 (both include flights). The following week the MGM is 2209 compared with the Palace at 2337. As you can see there is not much difference between weeks for the MGM but the Palace is quite a bit different. Does anyone know why? All I think of is that it is Thanksgiving on the 23rd so they might be trying to compete for business hence reducing there rates. Which week would you travel over? I understand it is always busy but leading up to Thanksgiving it becomes even busier but since I would be leaving on Thanksgiving day, would this really affect me as I would have to leave for the airport at 11am. When do people arrive for thanksgiving in Veg?Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?
Also depends on who and how you are booking it through. eg. agency, direct, online, etc.

Caesars Palace newer tower is a lot better than the MGM Grand, and more centrally located.

But since you are all going all out ... I would stay at the Bellagio. The Bellagio is the only place I stay in Vegas. The service is above and beyond anyplace I have ever stayed. They have shoping %26amp; restaurants. I believe that it is the only 5 Diamond Hotel in Vegas.

Or book a room at THEhotel. Its nice.

People arrive in Vegas everyday like its a holiday. Its always on the go. Also if you plan to see any of the shows like Cirque De Soleil or a conert act or something ... book your tickets now! If I were you I would go the week of Thanksgiving ... it will be extremely memorable and exciting.

Good luck with your planning %26amp; have fun!!
Hotel room prices, as with airline prices are a matter of supply %26amp; demand.

Caesars might have a event (invitation only) or a big convention planned so that might explain the price difference in early November.

Your better off in early November, unless you like crowds. Thanksgiving weekend is very busy. Yes, your airline experience would be effected Thanksgiving Day, greatly, as people try to get around the country for the holiday. The early November trip is "midweek", that would make your stay less stressed, less crowded.

And dinner, show and spa reservations should be made after your reservation is confirmed. Its easier to cancel then to get at the last minute.

I disagree with the others, Caesars is not what it used to be. It needs updating and its lost its luster. MGM is much better.

However, Wynn Las Vegas would be my first choice, Bellagio, next.

Then Venitian, MGM, and Caesars last.

Hope you have a great trip !!Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?
Go to orbitz.com or travelocity.com....you might do MUCH better booking your air and hotel separately vs. a package. Not sure of your origination city but the prices that you are quoting seem quite high.
go on the cheaper day u save alot of money and i recommend ceasar it is nicer but if u want cheap choose mgm
I disagree that Caesars is much better than MGM. They are both huge places, but Caesars is more in the middle of the strip, which makes the location great. I like MGM for gambling, although I haven't stayed there. Everybody has a favorite hotel so it will have to be your decision. Have you checked other hotels for cheaper prices? Sometimes you can book air and hotel separate and get a better deal by going directly through the hotel on-line. That price sounds really high to me, but I don't know where you are flying from.

Don't worry about the airport on Thanksgiving day ... they are well prepared for lots of traffic. Just be sure to get there at least 2 hours before your flight. I think most people that are going out the Las Vegas for Thanksgiving arrive on Sunday and spend the whole week.
All I know is that Caesars Palace is a much better hotel, and casino.
You don't say where you are traveling from, but get the newspaper and check out the Vegas specials, then make your decision. I have to agree with whoever said don't really worry about the room, because you probably won't be in it much. If you can find something cheaper in the paper you will have more money for fun things to do. Have fun and good luck gambling.

In las vegas, what is the nicest looking hotel at night? Belagio, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, or MGM Grand??

IMO...The Bellagio..especially when the fountain show is going.

~GIn las vegas, what is the nicest looking hotel at night? Belagio, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, or MGM Grand??
Of the choices you gave: MGM Grand. Big, green, located at the top of the Strip and you can't miss it! My personal favorite is Mirage.
I would have to say the Belagio because not only is it beautiful from the inside it is also beautiful from the outside and in a great location on the strip. It's right in the middle of everything so this one would be best.In las vegas, what is the nicest looking hotel at night? Belagio, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, or MGM Grand??
i used to live there. definately the belagio... the water show is ssoooo nice.. and its free!
At night... I would say out of the choices you gave me the Belagio. I use to work at the Flamingo and I would get off around 11:30 (p.m.) and just so happened right when I was driving by they would have one of their fountain shows. I think that was the only good thing about me working on the strip. (I personally hated the hours). Now if you want to expand on that, I think the coolest one is still the Luxor in my book. I just think it is so cool that you can't see anything but the light at night. Did you know you can see the light anywhere in Vegas too. I know, I live on the opposite side of town and I can see the light at all times (well at night of course).
The Wynn, hands down. Bellagio is very nice and so is Mandalay Bay, but Monte Carlo does compete with those hotels. Though El Diablo Cantina is super fun. I love the MGM Grand it will always been one of my favorites.
Though the Mandalay Bay is beautiful the vest is Mirage with the volcano or Venetian with the gondolas canals. But the most memorable is Luxor, the pyramid, which has a light shooting into the sky that planes can see as they land in LA and has little lights running down the sides.
    Its an unfair fight!

Belagio's fountains out in front are gorgeous, both day and night. =)
The best is the Venetian because of its lights and the atmosphere otherwise the Bellagio.
Belagio. (out of the list). But I think the Luxor hotel looks the best out of all the hotels in vegas.
I concur with most and say the Bellagio ... more lights %26amp; the fountains. None of them have the old school Vegas lights (you have to go to The Flamingo to see those).

On a cloudy night, I prefer the MGM, though ... I like a bright, green sky.

    MGM Grand--vegas??

im leaving for vegas tomorrow and staying at the mgm

anyone have any reviews about the place and anything i should expect or make sure to bring?

    hows the pools also

    thanks!MGM Grand--vegas??
I have stayed there for several conferences. Overall I hated it. The fact that they screwed up my credit card by permitting a co-worker to charge on it did not help nor the fact that they did not take any responsibility for their errors.

The pool is nothing special and is inferior to many of its competitors. The only unique water features is the circular river that you can coast down in a tube going past all the sunbathers.
I loved the MGM. They have real lions behind a glass cage thing and you can walk underneath it. The girl lion was laying down there and it was crazy how HUGE her paw was literally right above my head. The views are nice too. Its down at the end so theres lots of walking to the other end if you want to go down that far. Its close to NY NY which is cool to tour too. You will have a great time.MGM Grand--vegas??
The casino is huge, the size of three football fields

Join the players club and use it at the other MGM Mirage hotels for comps etc

Enjoy the corner and see Luxor/pyramid, Excalibur/castle, NYNY and scream rollercoaster, etc etc

    Check out www.lasvegasnow.com
I love the MGM its huge the pool is excellent the lazy river has to be one of the biggest in the World, the rooms are big and the beds the most comftable I have slept in. THe tower rooms most people agree are nicer than the West Wing Rooms
MGM is really nice. The pool is huge but great. I enjoyed every MGM visit.
Bellow is a link with reviews.
I get tired walking every time I go to the MGM Grand. It's absolutely HUGE. Really big casino. Long, long walks to your room. It's BIG BIG BIG.

Other than big, it has some really great restaurants, the Rain Forest Cafe, Emeril's New Orleans Fish House and Craftsteak. All excellent.

Tabu Ultra Lounge is a really fun club.

The pool is nice with a lazy river. Don't forget sunscreen.
its nice ... you have to stop buy fat Tuesday's and get a margarita .. its in the shops at MGM .. many food places to eat and a huge casino .. also the monorail is conveniently located at the back of the casino to get to other places down the strip!~!

Treasure Island VS. MGM grand in las vegas?

Trying to decide whether to stay at TI or MGM for my visit to vegas in the summer, the only thing i am not so sure about is MGM would be booked through vegas.com i have never used them before so any information about them would be helpful. Would be staying in Deluxe room at TI as well as in MGM. Any suggestions?Treasure Island VS. MGM grand in las vegas?
I'd pick TI. Been to Vegas 6 times and stayed at Venetian, Mirage, and TI. All in a great area of the strip.

MGM is so large you might get lost and it's also at the other end of the strip near NY, NY. TI has a decent pool; it's a good 4-star hotel %26amp; casino.
If you're not planning on leaving the hotel, MGM Grand has everything you need. If you plan on seeing the strip, TI is a much better location. Even if you're driving, the MGM Grand parking lot is far, far away from the hotel.

Personally I prefer to book directly through the hotel rather than a third-party service, because you can always cancel without penalties (or, if the rates drop, cancel and rebook the rooms at a lower price). Even if you find a cheaper rate on a third-party site, call the hotel and see if they'll match the price.Treasure Island VS. MGM grand in las vegas?
Vegas.com is a well-trusted site and you shouldn't worry about booking through them if that's your concern. That being said however, I would also consider booking direct with the hotel itself and using a promo code at the time of your booking to save some money. At the very least, it's worth price shopping for a few minutes to see if you can beat the nightly rate being offered Vegas.com. Have fun!

I would suggest, as far as location wise... TI since the location is in the center strip, u dont have to walk or take a ride if u planning to party.. MGM is a nice hotel too but the location is almost the south end of the strip.. but if you're going with family (with children) then MGM is your best option..

I had the worst time at the MGM. We had a couple days were the maid never showed up. We had to change rooms twice because of noise from elevators and other guest. The bedding was scratchy and sucked. I was not happy at all.

Most of the hotels in Vegas are pretty standard rooms. I recommend staying off the strip. The lobby is nice, not too big and it has tigers living in it. It has a large casino.

    MGM grand skyloft suite?

Is MGM sky loft good for ages 15 to 17MGM grand skyloft suite?
MGM Skyloft Suites are considered amongst the very best in Vegas; however, with 24/hour butler service and the like, they are very 'high-end' and aim to the refined adult, more than towards the younger guests, I would say. You parents will probably absolutely love them and so will anybody over 30, I would think....MGM grand skyloft suite?
    Sure.

I guess the only problem is that it's kind of removed from stuff that a 15 year old would find fun, so he'd have to walk a lot.

MGM Grand in Las Vegas ?

Is it true that MGM in Las Vegas has 2 hotel, a new one and an old one? How can I tell a difference when making hotel reservation? ThanksMGM Grand in Las Vegas ?
The other is the Signature at the MGM. This is a condo tower that people bought for investments. The MGM rents the condos out on a nightly or weekly basis for the owner to recoup some of their investment. It is located at the back of the property and you can see it if you drive up Koval.
When I was there I only saw one.MGM Grand in Las Vegas ?
The last time I was in vegas I saw only one hotel. Maybe they might have another hotel in the MGM Grand, Maybe the other one is used for hotels or other stuff.

I am going to Vegas and staying at the MGM Grand...?

my trip has been paid for by someone else is this a pricey place to stay for 4 nights????I am going to Vegas and staying at the MGM Grand...?
It is pretty pricy. There are more expensive but not many. It is by far, my favorite place in Vegas. I think it is beautiful. It is very nice inside and it had the nicest staff of all the casinos I went into. You are so lucky, I wish I was going.

p.s. I loved Vegas, but I am not sure why someone above suggested Hooters. Sure, guys like Hooters but It is just a Hooters. It looks like a big hotel, kinda run down and I thought it was a poor excuse for a casino.
uh yeh. who the hell give it to ur for free.. lucky!!I am going to Vegas and staying at the MGM Grand...?
Very nice hotel. You'll be right across the street from the New York New York Hotel. The Excalibur Hotel. And the Tropicana Hotel.
everything in vegas is a lot!! so yes! Be thankful
The MGM Grand is definitely a nice hotel. I've been to Las Vegas a few times and whoever paid for your hotel was very generous, especially if you're staying there during the weekend when hotel fares go up drastically.
it depends. some nights are $280 and some are $90. or if you stay in the terrace sweet it's $900 per night, hollywood suites are about $200 and premiere and glamour suites are $300-$400 per night
Well depending on any events going on at the acual hotel. It will usually cost you around 200 and up per night depending on the size of room and what time of the year it is. I stayed there a couple of times and it's one of the nicer ones.
HEY! Your going to love vegas it is WONDERFUL i just got back about 2 months ago and i want to go back soooo bad. MGM has a lion enclosure inside so you get to see real lions. Most hotels are pricey but MGM is pretty average. I would highly reccommend taking a look down at the Fashion Outlet Mall in vegas the deuce (bus up and dwn strip) goes there every 5 minutes or so.

I envy you so much. You are going to LOVE it. Lucky. MGM is a very nice hotel, be sure to check out the casino and also hooters around the corner from MGM. Oh and also New York New York. You will be amazed by this hotel i still think it is my altime fav.

    HAVE A GOOD TRIP
It averages about $100 per night. That is pretty standard in Las Vegas for the major Strip Hotels. It is not particularly pricey. For Pricey look at Bellagio, Palazzo, Wynn, the Venetian, Caesars etc. They are routinely between $275 and $460 per night.

There are other places that are routinely under a hundred dollars, too like Excalibur, Imperial Palace and Circus Circus.

So it is pretty much in the mid-range. The rooms in the old West Wing are small but are nicely furnished. The Grand Tower rooms are a little larger and better appointed. The one thing to consider is that this hotel is enormous. You will do a lot of walking just from the front desk to your room.

There is a section of MGM Grand called the Signature which is kind of a hotel within the hotel. They have only suites and are quite beautiful but that is pricey.

Is this person who paid for the trip going with you or?? Did they just give you the trip?

Either way it's pretty generous and yes, MGM is a nice place....I'd say higher mid range.

The reason I ask is they are having some GREAT deals right now on rooms. BUT they are non-refundable @ that price. So if this person booked this trip and locked into this great price (and I do mean GREAT meaning $81 -175/night even on weekends) then was unable to go...well. There ya go free trip for you ;)

I would definitely be grateful and buy this person a nice Thank You gift like a spa or dinner gift certificate in the $200-300 range.
They have great deals, most likely if the stay is during the week it is about $130 a night. Which is the average in Vegas. But as the guest what do you care how much they spent. Thank them very much and enjoy yourself.
MGM probably has the most fluctuating rates in the city I have stayed in a spa suite for $69 per night and my friend stayed in a standard room for $399 a night two weeks before me. when there are events on particually boxing the rates rocket, the rack rates are pretty hight but you can usually get discount codes that make it less than half price at least .
