Which is a better hotel for late 20 somethings in vegas? MGM Grand or the Mirage?

Hi, my boyfriend and I are in our late 20s and looking to spend a 750 dollar credit at US Airways vacations site to go to vegas mid-January. I have only been once and this was about 5 years ago. Our options on the site are somewhat limited, and I can't break my credit up - it must be used all at once.

So here are my options narrowed down:

MGM Grand West Wing or Grand Tower- Uses our credit up

The Mirage standard room- Uses our credit up

The Mirage Signature Suite - our credit PLUS I'd pay 150 dollars

Based on these three options, and considering location (I understand the Mirage is in a better location on the strip) what would you suggest for the best of the three? Which is a better hotel for late 20 somethings in vegas? MGM Grand or the Mirage?
Stay at The Mirage. It absolutely is in the much better location! It's closer to The Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian, Treasure Island, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Flamingo, Harrahs and The Fashionshow Mall... MGM is closer to Mandalay, Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana, Planet Hollywood, Paris, NY-NY. The Mirage is most definitely in the better location, Google map it to see for yourself. Anyone who says otherwise has obviously not spent much time on the strip.

I would not pay to upgrade. 1) You two can see a really good show for $150. That'd be much more memorable than a bigger room. 2) You can probably get a room upgrade just by asking or slipping the front desk clerk a twenty. They can upgrade you for free if there's rooms available. I dated 2 girls that worked the front desk and they'd upgrade people all the time just because they asked and the rooms were open.

The Mirage rooms have been recently renovated, so they are very nice %26amp; modern. If you guys plan on doing any clubbing, The Mirage has Jet and Revolution Lounge, these are MUCH MUCH better than what MGM Grand has to offer (Studio 54 and Tabu). Having those two clubs brings in a very fun, energetic crowd to The Mirage, which gives it a very good vibe. And it's always nice to just go up to your room instead of walking down the strip drunk or taking a cab back to your hotel.

Also, if you'd be walking, most of the best clubs are closer to The Mirage. Pure @ Caesars (next door), Christian Audigier @ Treasure Island (next door), Tao @ The Venetian (across the street), Tryst @ Wynn (2 hotels up), The Bank @ Bellagio (2 hotels down). By MGM you have LAX @ Luxor (2 hotels down) and Prive @ Planet Hollywood (2 hotels up).

Also, you will probably not use the monorail. I've lived here for a very long time and not one person who has come to visit me has ever used it. It's very out of the way, so most people just walk or cab it.
Well at least you have great choices. Does the size of the room really matter. Most people find they only use their room to sleep and shower. I would save the extra money to spend elsewhere. Either one would be fine to stay with the MGM easier to get to and around. The monorail runs behind the MGM and you can get up and down the strip easier. Which is a better hotel for late 20 somethings in vegas? MGM Grand or the Mirage?
I disagree. MGM is by Tropicana, Monte Carlo, NYNY, Luxor (20 something attitude), Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. While Mirage is by Treasure Island, Venetian, Palazzo, and Wynn. Of the two for the closest things for 20 something I would take MGM, getting a room with a Strip view.

The Mirage is center strip so you're in the heart of the action. If it were me I'd cough up the $150 for the suite and have a blast. Check out "O" at the Bellagio, great show!
I say MGM West wing is the best. I've stayed in them all.

Mirage standard. You don't need the upgrade as you won't be in your room much and the Mirage is way better than the MGM.
stay at the mirage its a nice hotel and its at the north side witch is cleaner than the mgm side of the strip
