MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?

Which would be better to stay at for 4 nights?MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?
I have not stayed at the MGM but here are my pros and cons for each.

MGM

Pros: A LOT of things in the casino, cus it's HUGE, so many restaurants, lotta shops, nice pool, KA is there. They also have the lions, it has a decent strip location a little south though, but the monorail does stop there. cheaper price

Cons: Because it's so large it's extremely packed, my friends who have stayed there say the rooms are a bit dated.

Mirage:

Pros: Not nearly as packed as MGM, one of the best pools in Vegas (up there with Bellagio and Mandalay Bay, if not better than Bellagio). Nice casino size, and theme. Rooms all newly remodeled (and very nice when i stayed there last Nov). The strip location is one of the best most central locations you can get. Price is on par or only a bit more than MGM if that

Cons: Does not have the amount of shopping/restaurants MGM does or KA, does not have monorail stop.

All in all..I would pick Mirage the pros far out weigh it's cons IMO. You can't go wrong either way, but I'd pick Mirage. don't forget to tip the front desk $20 or maybe even $40 (since you're staying longer than most ppl) when you check in so you can hopefully get a nice upgrade. (At least a strip view).

Have fun. 2009 may be the first year I will not go to Vegas...but I'm going to WDW a different playground lol.

p.s. the Cravings Buffet @ Mirage is my new favorite buffet on the strip, better than MGM, Spice MArket (planet hollywood), and even Bellagios.
I stayed at the Mirage for a week back in October and loved every minute of it. It's in a great central location (better location than MGM), it had a great selection of restaurants and buffets, the atmosphere was really cool, the pool was fabulous and the newly renovated rooms are very contemporary and very big. I had great service and even good luck in the casino there! I would definitely choose to stay at the Mirage again.

I don't know much about MGM Grand other than that location doesn't do it for me. I prefer more central strip, as I don't spend much time in that area. I do like the free lion habitat but the Mirage offers Sigfried %26amp; Roy's Secret Garden for a small cost which tops the lion habitat. I do remember MGM Grand having a pretty good pool as well.

I believe they are owned by the same company so I bet you will see a lot of similarities in terms of service, decor, etc. I think the Mirage rooms might be newer and nicer too. Go to www.tripadvisor.com and check out travelers' reviews and photos. It always helps me to decide.MGM GRAND OR THE MIRAGE?
Mirage is a bit crowded. MGM is nice and spread out. The pool area at the Mirage is always packed. The MGM has several pools to choose from. I would go with the MGM as it should also be cheaper.
The mirage was remodeled last year. However people still don't think it's that great, even though it is one of the supposedly upscale properties.
Both hotels are great but I prefer MGM Grand because of the great pool scene. Before you go check the current hotel promotions on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for these and other hotels as well. This can save a lot of money.
DEF the Mirage!!!!! no comparison!

i stayed at the MGM Grand and really didnt like it. I wish i stayed more in the location of the Mirage!
Never stayed at the Mirage but we did stay at MGM and liked it. It has nice rooms and good restaurants. I think they have the best show in Vegas called KA.
If you have a lot of money stay at the Sky Lofts at MGM , they are high class. But I don't really like either, Stay at the Wynn or Encore (Wynn)
The Mirage, because it has a better location.
MGM Grand, huge casino next to great other casinos
I would go with the Mirage casino..
MGM has Tabu. On the weekends, it's poppin hella hard. Tons of females.
i live in las vegas and i like the MGM =o i like it cuz its green
mgm is nicer of the 2.

you may get better deal at mirage though.
Either is okay, just take the best deal.
