Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?

I have priced up for myself and wife to travel over to Las Vagas either on the 12th Nov to 16th Nov or 19th to 23rd Nov (Thanksgiving). We would like to stay at either the MGM or Caesars Palace but it depends on the price. At the moment if we came over on 12th and left 16th we could stay in the MGM for 2382 dollars compared with the Palace at 3137 (both include flights). The following week the MGM is 2209 compared with the Palace at 2337. As you can see there is not much difference between weeks for the MGM but the Palace is quite a bit different. Does anyone know why? All I think of is that it is Thanksgiving on the 23rd so they might be trying to compete for business hence reducing there rates. Which week would you travel over? I understand it is always busy but leading up to Thanksgiving it becomes even busier but since I would be leaving on Thanksgiving day, would this really affect me as I would have to leave for the airport at 11am. When do people arrive for thanksgiving in Veg?Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?
Also depends on who and how you are booking it through. eg. agency, direct, online, etc.

Caesars Palace newer tower is a lot better than the MGM Grand, and more centrally located.

But since you are all going all out ... I would stay at the Bellagio. The Bellagio is the only place I stay in Vegas. The service is above and beyond anyplace I have ever stayed. They have shoping %26amp; restaurants. I believe that it is the only 5 Diamond Hotel in Vegas.

Or book a room at THEhotel. Its nice.

People arrive in Vegas everyday like its a holiday. Its always on the go. Also if you plan to see any of the shows like Cirque De Soleil or a conert act or something ... book your tickets now! If I were you I would go the week of Thanksgiving ... it will be extremely memorable and exciting.

Good luck with your planning %26amp; have fun!!
Hotel room prices, as with airline prices are a matter of supply %26amp; demand.

Caesars might have a event (invitation only) or a big convention planned so that might explain the price difference in early November.

Your better off in early November, unless you like crowds. Thanksgiving weekend is very busy. Yes, your airline experience would be effected Thanksgiving Day, greatly, as people try to get around the country for the holiday. The early November trip is "midweek", that would make your stay less stressed, less crowded.

And dinner, show and spa reservations should be made after your reservation is confirmed. Its easier to cancel then to get at the last minute.

I disagree with the others, Caesars is not what it used to be. It needs updating and its lost its luster. MGM is much better.

However, Wynn Las Vegas would be my first choice, Bellagio, next.

Then Venitian, MGM, and Caesars last.

Hope you have a great trip !!Caesars Palace / MGM Grand?
Go to orbitz.com or travelocity.com....you might do MUCH better booking your air and hotel separately vs. a package. Not sure of your origination city but the prices that you are quoting seem quite high.
go on the cheaper day u save alot of money and i recommend ceasar it is nicer but if u want cheap choose mgm
I disagree that Caesars is much better than MGM. They are both huge places, but Caesars is more in the middle of the strip, which makes the location great. I like MGM for gambling, although I haven't stayed there. Everybody has a favorite hotel so it will have to be your decision. Have you checked other hotels for cheaper prices? Sometimes you can book air and hotel separate and get a better deal by going directly through the hotel on-line. That price sounds really high to me, but I don't know where you are flying from.

Don't worry about the airport on Thanksgiving day ... they are well prepared for lots of traffic. Just be sure to get there at least 2 hours before your flight. I think most people that are going out the Las Vegas for Thanksgiving arrive on Sunday and spend the whole week.
All I know is that Caesars Palace is a much better hotel, and casino.
You don't say where you are traveling from, but get the newspaper and check out the Vegas specials, then make your decision. I have to agree with whoever said don't really worry about the room, because you probably won't be in it much. If you can find something cheaper in the paper you will have more money for fun things to do. Have fun and good luck gambling.
