I am really having a hard time deciding if I should stay at TI or MGM when I go to Vegas for my birthday. There will be about 30 people ranging from 21-50 years old. I have read several reviews but still not sure what would be the best option. Price wise I found that MGM Grand was a little cheaper, but only by a few dollars. I know they are on opposite ends of the strip but I have never been to Vegas so not sure what that means.
Also, I would love to have a birthday dinner celebration. Any suggestions on a place that is nice but does not cost more than 50.00 per person??Treasure Island or MGM Grand for Las Vegas? Also, what about dining?
TI is in a better location on the strip but MGM Grand has nicer rooms and more things to do in the hotel. MGM Grand is also much cheaper if you factor in the resort fee. Treasure Island charges you an extra $20 /day in resort fees and MGM Grand charges $10 /day
Here is a list of resort fees http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>
As far as dinner celebration, take your party to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. It's dinner and show and lots of fun.
Discount codes for MGM Grand.

MGM, definitely. Its an amazing hotel with the largest casino on the strip. I stayed there and loved it!
For a birthday dinner, I suggest Fiamma....http://www.mgmgrand.com/restaurants/fiam鈥?/a> delicious. A dinner for 2 cost me about $80 there, but completely worth it.Treasure Island or MGM Grand for Las Vegas? Also, what about dining?
Both hotels are fine, TI has the better location but I prefer MGM Grand because the hotel rooms are nicer IMO and the pool area and casino atmosphere is very nice. You can also get the better room promotions for MGM, I recommend to check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/categ鈥?/a> before you book, it has the latest MGM promotions.
Treasure Island =) For a nice dinner and a group that big check out Maggiano's at the Fashion Show Mall.
I love the TI, smaller casino than MGM, but both are very nice. Take the best room deal you can, and with that many people they should be giving you room deals. You have to deal directly with the hotel for those specials (many packages) rather than a discount site.
As far as a dinner goes, against you will make a deal with the hotel but with that many people you will need to make a reservation if not reserve a special room. Meal deals for groups eight and over automatically have an 18% tip!
TI does not have the variety of restaurants that MGM does.
You may want to consider a buffet dinner with a designated section for your group. The price will be right and everyone can enjoy as much of so much. Otherwise, with a group that large you may be limited to two dinner choices. Restaurants are not set up for large groups that size to just walk in.
MGM would be a better pick as they have a better location and a great pool area. TI pool sucks and there is not much north of them on the strip where there is still a lot south of MGM. Also TI gets difficult to get around just outside the hotel every evening when the Sirens show is performing. The crowd is so thick just standing there that it is difficult to get in and out.
Did you figure in the resort fees that these two hotels charge? MGM is $10 per night and TI is $20 so that might make a bigger difference in price as you figured. Best to check one of Harrahs properties right in the middle of the strip and you might be surprised how much you can save.
